I completed it yesterday. Took me a lot of days. It is a good book, but my mind automatically compares every Holocaust book with The Book Thief and it always stands out. So I give it a 3 stars rating.

I agree Diane! It really threw me off for the beginning. I got more used to it as the book went on, but I definitely think it slowed down the story a lot.

I thought this book was just okay. it definitely wasn't as good as I thought it would be. The switching of time periods really started confusing me as well.

Well I seem to be one of the only persons who liked the deconstructed narration. I thought it was clever how we would discover some pieces of a big puzzle.
So I really appreciated the story and the characters but I kinda wish Marie-Laure and Werner had had more time together.

I read the book back in the fall and quite enjoyed it, although by the end, I felt that the book fell a little flat for me.
