There's been so much confusion about KDP's new VAT rules that I wrote a blog post about it, complete with the math, and a suggestion as to how you can use these new rules to your advantage. Hope it helps to relieve some of the anxiety.

You're welcome. Glad to help. Was on another forum where I tried to explain the new rules and some people were really confused, especially because of the way Amazon worded their web page.

MA - what would you think about the strategy of setting all of your book's VAT-included prices to be the same Euro amount?

It's what I do. Although Spain and Italy are suffering more than northern countries, and therefore lower prices are recommended, the problem is that most retailers other than Amazon only allow us to set one euro price. Set a lower one on Amazon.es or Amazon.it, and you risk Kobo or Apple lowering their price to match, and then Amazon lowers their other euro prices to match as Kobo or Apple, etc.

I have set the same euro price regardless of euro location and accepted that that will mean variable royalty income - not that I have many sales outside UK and USA.

Thanks for sharing that. Amazon seems to be changing things so often it's hard to keep up with it.
