I hadn't realized I was lagging on so many of them. I'm usually pretty good about staying current.

Sandra | 4736 comments Finished Shards of Hope (Psy-Changeling, #14) by Nalini Singh yesterday and loved it. Whilst some of my friends commented that they didn't like the H/h being Psy, I thought i was nicely balanced out by Remi's pack and the little cutie cubs. Also all the cameos from previous couples.

Looking forward to what Nalini has in store for us in the next arc.

Is this a good series? I almost picked up the first book the other day.

I finished The Gunslinger (The Dark Tower, #1) by Stephen King which was interesting and made me curious enough that I will likely read more of the Dark Tower series. I also just finished The Fifth Season (The Broken Earth, #1) by N.K. Jemisin which was pretty great at both world building and character development. It left me a little stumped as to what read next.

I absolutely love the Gunslinger. The Dark Tower series is a great series but can get daunting towards the end.

message 358: by Veronica (new)

Veronica (readingonthefly) I definitely want to know what's going on, Robyn. I have a couple of co-workers who love the series and who are encouraging me to keep reading.

message 366: by Darcy (new)

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 3123 comments It was a big decision what audio to start yesterday, Marked in Flesh or Fire Touched. I hate it when my favorite authors release on the same day!! lol

I went with Fire Touched, it seems like more people read that one, more potential for spoilers.

message 367: by Sandra, Need more time to Read!! (new)

Sandra | 4736 comments Both good choices :D

message 374: by Alisa (new)

Alisa Recently finished The Visitor (Graveyard Queen, #4) by Amanda Stevens which was just ok for me. I had some issues with it.

Almost done with The Demonists (Demonist, #1) by Thomas E. Sniegoski and I'm enjoying it.

Listening to The Getaway God (Sandman Slim, #6) by Richard Kadrey on audio.

Last year I broke up with both the Chicagoland Vamp series and Mercy Thompson. But I keep hearing talk about them in groups and I think "Maybe I should try again". I don't know what's wrong with me. It's not like I don't have 100 other books to read. I have a problem. :)

message 375: by Sandra, Need more time to Read!! (new)

message 376: by Darcy (new)

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 3123 comments That is exactly why I have a hard time breaking up with a series.

Veronica (readingonthefly) Alisa wrote: "Last year I broke up with both the Chicagoland Vamp series and Mercy Thompson."

I fell behind on reading the CLV series and, truthfully, I haven't felt all that motivated to pick it back up again. I am current with the Mercy Thompson series but I'll admit that the last two books, which includes the current one, haven't held my interest as much as the series used to.

I haven't read any Mercy Thompson.

I am reading the Chicagoland Vampires, but stopped because I couldn't see paying $12.99 for an ebook. My library doesn't have the book either.

$12.99??? Yowza. That answers that question. I'll either not be reading it or waiting till down the road when I can get it from the library.

I can understand being disappointed. I heard so much about Poison Princess and DNF. On the other hand, I read no reviews in A Thousand Pieces of You and enjoyed it.

Same with movies!

I agree regarding reading reviews. It's the same with movies, reading all the hyped-up reviews and then I'm disappointed when I see the movie.
