The books are so much better!

I'm thinking about taking a break from the series and picking up another book to get taste breaker, i don't think i have it in me to binge 8 more books but we'll see. If you happen to pick them up let me know! :)

I love binging on series, but the bad thing when that happens is the whole series seems like one book. But when you read them separately you remember oh, that book had this in it.

Thats how i'm starting to feel, 5 books in a row is about my limit honestly its all blending together. I think i'll take a two week break maybe start reading The Witches of New York I think its be a nice taste breaker. I just keep finding myself if reading trilogies or a series and getting super wrapped in them.

message 1155: by [deleted user] (new)

I have 3 new series to start, so I am hoping that will curb the binging. Also, I put the Hollows down a couple months ago and need to pick that up, so I suppose I have 4 series to read.

I agree with the about 5 books. I suppose it depends. I think I read most of Kate Daniels without a break, and that was great. Same with Mercy Thompson. Other than that, I gotta go a little slower.

I started Myths and Mortals (Numina Trilogy #2) by Charlie N. Holmberg this morning. I forgot how soul crushing Smoke & Summons (Numina Trilogy, #1) by Charlie N. Holmberg was. So good though.

Sandra | 4736 comments I always have trouble remembering which is in what book, especially if I've read them back to back, even when its a re-read. LOL.

Just finished The Trouble with Twelfth Grave (Charley Davidson, #12) by Darynda Jones and I want to read the next book but its the last one in the series and I don't know if I'm ready to let go yet :(

Dawn (dawnv) | 4058 comments So far this has been a great book for books.
I finally read Magic Triumphs (Kate Daniels, #10) by Ilona Andrews I was really in denial about not wanting it to end then I forgot I never read it. So talk about a lovely surprise there!

I also read Sweep with Me (Innkeeper Chronicles, #4.5) by Ilona Andrews and this is quickly becoming a favorite series

Finally, I finished Sin & Spirit (Demigods of San Francisco, #4) by K.F. Breene which is also a great series.

Love it when I have great things to read...but what next?

You are the second person who's been talking about the Breene books/series I've seen this week and I've never heard of them. I may have to check them out soon.

I think this one is free on kindle unlimited. The author is a hit or miss for me and this one is a hit. I like when the heroine has real like issues and this one has two teens that she takes care of..and sometimes the kids take care of her. All in all you need to suspend belief when reading but I think it is like candy.

Let me know if you check it out!

It's funny that you bring up the real issues, because this is what the other person was talking about. I did see it was in KU. I hop in and out of that and noted it so I can check it out.

Sandra | 4736 comments Just sped through the first 6 books of the Ghost Mountain Shifters series, first book Alpha (Ghost Mountain Wolf Shifters, #1) by Audrey Faye

This series is not your typical action story, its all about the emotional growth of the whole pack after the bad alpha gets killed in the first 10 or so pages. And that's not a spoiler :D

What did you think of Smoke Bitten?

I could not figure out why I did not love it. It was a great book but just something about it, maybe how quick people were to judge Mercy then expect her to fix it?

Sandra | 4736 comments It certainly wasn't my favourite but I still enjoyed it.

Adam bugged me with not sharing his problem. But books need conflict I guess, just not the conflict I want .... ever.

I felt like at this point that was a bit out of character.

Dawn (dawnv) | 4058 comments Elizabeth Hunter has come out with a new series called Glimmer Lake. We again have middle age heroines and I just love this!

Really enjoyed Semi-Psychic Life (Glimmer Lake, #2) by Elizabeth Hunter Suddenly Psychic (Glimmer Lake, #1) by Elizabeth Hunter

message 1190: by [deleted user] (new)

I started Ninth House (Alex Stern, #1) by Leigh Bardugo probably not the best book to be reading at this point and time. Oh well.

I really liked Smoke Bitten. I liked that Adam was dangerous again. However, I was sad too with the shutting off, but I think Briggs made her point - even the strongest struggle.

Also, I love Ben so much. I wish there was more of him or that he could have his own book.

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 3123 comments I've been reading a new to me series, Alpha (Ghost Mountain Wolf Shifters, #1) by Audrey Faye , never heard of the author or the books, but man...each book is really good. I find myself tearing up when reading them, yet have hope while I read. I love seeing how this broken pack heals and doing it with the submissives and juveniles leading, while the new alpha listens to what everyone needs and finds a way to give it to them. The series is in KU, a good thing as I've read the 1st 4 in the last week.

And I don't usually binge read, but I couldn't not start the next one.

One of my friends was loving them, so thought I'd have a look - and what a find. Looking forward to the next one.

It is really hard not to read them all back to back. I've been throwing in a different book after I read 2 of these. I'm in the middle of #5 now, will finish and start #6 as soon as I'm done.

Have you read any of her other books? I love these so much it makes me want to check out her whole back list.

message 1195: by Sandra, Need more time to Read!! (new)

Sandra | 4736 comments I haven't yet, but I've been tempted :)

I noticed that she has a box set which includes 2 firsts & a standalone, which is much cheaper than buying them alone, unless of course you have ku.

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 3123 comments I haven't checked to see if her others are in KU, will do that when I'm done with this series.

Do they not have KU where you are? For some reason I have in my head you are AUS or NZ.

message 1197: by Sandra, Need more time to Read!! (new)

Makes sense. I hop on and off KU, keep a separate shelf that I put books there. So when I have KU I read a lot off of it. I rarely re-read books with my eyes, most of my re-reads are by audio and I purchase those.

I usually have one of each going. I can listen to audios at work all day, makes it go so much faster, then read in the evening.
