YAY June is right around the corner!

How are you liking those so far? I loved how much each character surprises me in those. Like, they all end up different than what I'd originally expected.

Yes, I completely understand that. When I got to the end of her Throne of Glass series, I think it broke me for a little while. I just...couldn't read anything. But I love it so hard.

Yeah, I'd love to say it didn't break me, but it did. In a good way, but STILL.

I think that's an excellent point. For some reason there's this misconception that characters have to fit into a certain character-mold. As if we can't identify with them for one part of their personality being at odds with their decisions.
We're all complicated. I like it better when people are written as contradictions. It feels more real, you know?

It hasn't gotten to the point where I can't do anything but finish the book, yet. Here's hoping.

Can you maybe compare that series to any other series? For instance, is it anything like

I'm not sure I ever felt like that with Jane books. I was always wanting to read more, but I don't remember losing sleep. Great series, it just evoked different feelings in me than some others.

No not really. Breeds are genetically engineered in labs and they are part human and part animal. The series began as an erotic novel and then grew to develop a decent plot line which surrounds the Breeds trying to get newly created Breeds out of labs and other humans from learning more about them and exploiting them.
Though there are some common elements like being mated with lots of adventure and comradery between factions.

This one is a bit different so I look forward to hearing what you think.

I'm close to being finished with

Even if it takes another 6 books. LOL.

@Dawn/Sandra,
I'm mainly into urban fantasy, but I'm trying to branch out and I love almost any story about shifters. I've read most of the Psy-Changeling series and really enjoyed it, but that's as far as I've made it in the PNR genre.
I'm also a fan of really long book series (only if the author keeps writing, you know...). So, would you recommend either of those to someone in my position?

Great example I knew there was another series but for the life of me I could not recall the name.

I like them both but I think I liked Tempting the Beast a bit more.
My honest suggestion would be to read the introduction on amazon and whichever one grabs you go for it. If you like one series you will probably like the other.

You are very welcome. I cannot wait to hear what you think!

I'm reading A Discovery of Witches. So far I am enjoying it. I'm excited to watch the show, I've heard lots of good things about it.

I really enjoyed that book. It was slow moving but I still loved it.

I loved reading it, too!

The heroine, Morrigan is like the worst I cannot finish this book fast enough. I mean she is really dumb even worse she is annoying! I actually feel sorry for the hero Ualan and this is his one shot at marriage, is this bratty harpie.

I am finishing up Succubus Dreams and then am moving on to Circle of the Moon ."
I really enjoyed the Georgina Kincaid series.

This was a fun and original book. I loved the frontier vibe and I thought it was an interesting turn of events to have so many human swindlers.
I'm on the second book of the All Souls Trilogy. I like it and all, but I don't think I like it as much as most people.

I haven't started the Sookie series yet. Maybe I need to move it up on the To- Read shelf.

Mostly people were unhappy with who Sookie ended up with. By the time we got to the end I was ok with things, it made sense.
I thought it funny how upset people got. We all need to remember...it's the author's choice, not ours, we just get to enjoy the books. But with that being said, I have found myself upset when reading different books. lol

I just finished this one, too! Gawd, I love that series. I was really intrigued by the clan of con-men, too. What a great angle in that setting. I think all the side-storylines about the puppy were my favorite parts, though.

Oh yes i've read that, i mean i'm just saying if she DOES end up with Eric i'll be happy. I loved the show but i'm finding that the books are much better (isn't that usually the case). Sookie is a MUCH better character in the books, the show did not do her justice at all.
