Do you mean the Jinn one - I think it came out last year around the holidays or is there another one? It feels like it gets harder and harder to keep up.

It is an interesting series (Jane True) I mean there are things I love about it but I hate hearing all about Jane's libido, that gets old fast. Still all an all I am glad I finished it.

As for Chicagoland Vampires I will be curious to hear what you think about it.

Let me check I already have it on my kindle.

Paperback however has not yet been released.

Sandra | 4736 comments Finished How to Seduce a Vampire (Without Really Trying) (Love at Stake, #15) by Kerrelyn Sparks and now I'm reading Magic Breaks (Kate Daniels, #7) by Ilona Andrews

I knew the Jinn book wasn't out in pb yet, didn't realise it was out in ebook. I was thinking I'd get it on kindle, will have to check it out :)

I think it's weird how different formats have different release dates. I didn't realize that. I did know my library hasn't gotten it's copy yet, so that makes sense.

message 68: by Dawn, Desperately seeking new worlds (new)

Dawn (dawnv) | 4058 comments @Sandra on kindle the prices was not to bad like £1.99 or $3 american

@ Darcy the release dates are very odd when I am doing the monthly list often timed there are books where I am think these are already out but it is just a new format

One day publishing will get it together!

message 69: by Dawn, Desperately seeking new worlds (new)

Dawn (dawnv) | 4058 comments I finished Blood Games (Chicagoland Vampires, #10) by Chloe Neill Lucky Break (Chicagoland Vampires, #10.5) by Chloe Neill Thunderbird Falls (Walker Papers, #2) by C.E. Murphy

I liked them all but did not love them if that makes sense.

In the CV series I find myself more interested in the shifters than the vamps. It was nice to see Ethan in this uppity kind of mood - I liked it because it rather followed what an older person may act like - not sure if that makes sense but it rang true so it sucked me into the book.

The short story was cute a lot far fetched but cute.

Thunderbird Falls was interesting and annoying. This book had a lot of details that I found myself kind of glossing over - maybe I just missed Gary maybe it was to much of the spirit world or maybe it was poor Joanne just could not quite get it together.

Well onto

Coyote Dreams (Walker Papers, #3) by C.E. Murphy Dark Debt (Chicagoland Vampires, #11) by Chloe Neill

Also I am listening to Half-Off Ragnarok (InCryptid, #3) by Seanan McGuire I am enjoying the reader quite a bit

Sandra | 4736 comments Well, Amazon is saying Hachette is making em charge AU$5.99 for the kindle Jinn and Juice (The Jinni, #1) by Nicole Peeler but the pb is like $11 on BD (which is now an Amazon co.) Which is why I've just wishlisted and not flat out bought it.

message 73: by Robyn (new)

Robyn (aiiro_pearl) Just recently finished Half-Off Ragnarok and am currently reading Poison Promise. I enjoyed Ragnarok as much as the other books in McGuire's Incryptid series. She is one of my favorite authors without a doubt. The elemental assassin series with Gin Blanco is quickly falling out of favor with me. The books just aren't as good as they used to be.

Currently reading Half-Off Ragnarok and I will admit I was concerned about the change in narrator but so far it is really working out

As for Gin Blanco I am still stuck on Spider OY

message 75: by Sandra, Need more time to Read!! (new)

Sandra | 4736 comments Spider is the one I'm up to as well.

message 76: by Robyn (new)

Robyn (aiiro_pearl) I was really unhappy with that one. Not gonna lie. The change in narrator works surprisingly well. I want to see a few books from Antimony's POV. She seems like she'd be fun. Blend in with the Boogeymen well. Lol

Sandra | 4736 comments Just started The Unleashing (Call of Crows, #1) by Shelly Laurenston , loving it, but whatever they said, its the same world as Hunting Season (The Gathering #1) by Shelly Laurenston I don't know why she just didn't call it Bk #2 instead of pretending its a new series.

I have both books. Should I read Hunting Season (The Gathering #1) by Shelly Laurenston first?

message 79: by Sandra, Need more time to Read!! (new)

Sandra | 4736 comments I'm nearly finished The Unleashing (Call of Crows, #1) by Shelly Laurenston and I'd have to say it doesn't matter which you read first.

SL set up the new bk as a first in series so you get the same world building in both books. The characters are different but the roles are the same, if that makes sense and the location is different. It's like different chapter houses of an organisation.

message 80: by Lauren (new)

Lauren (laurenjberman) Thanks for the input Sandra. I looked at her website and enough people have asked if the new book is a rewrite of Hunting Season for Shelly to post an answer on her FAQs (she says no, lol!)

message 81: by Sandra, Need more time to Read!! (new)

Sandra | 4736 comments The plot is definitely different, but it is the same world just a different group of people (crows & ravens) in a different city (Jersey vs LA & Hollywood)

I think Antimony actually has a short story she is like in a derby or something it was cute. There are a bunch of them on her website

That is awesome - I just saw the unleashing yesterday.

I have really blown my book budget lol

message 84: by Sandra, Need more time to Read!! (new)

Sandra | 4736 comments Just finished it. Loved it. The romance wasn't as pronounced as Hunting Season, but the ongoing plot seemed more developed.

I've really cut back cause the exchange rate has dropped significantly, but I'll still buy my favs regardless :(

Also finishing Half-Off Ragnarok (InCryptid, #3) by Seanan McGuire I fell asleep on the audio book and I have no idea where I was it sucks because the chapter line up is not in line with the segments

Alisa I finished The Shadows (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #13) by J.R. Ward which was not good for me. Not good. It's not goodness caused me to write a ranting review that sounded like a crazy person wrote it. Whatever. I stand by my rant. :)

Almost done with my ARC of End of Days (Penryn and the End of Days, #3) by Susan Ee and I'm enjoying it a lot. It's taking me awhile cuz I have it in print and print and my eyes are not friends these days.

I know, but I can't stop myself from reading them, I keep remembering how good they were at one time. Sort of like the Anita Blake books.
