I'm waiting for her next Burn for you book to come out.

message 704: by Sandra, Need more time to Read!! (new)

Sandra | 4736 comments If you want to read One Fell Sweep for free on the website, you've only got till 20th December, cause that's when the ebook/kindle comes out and it'll be taken down off the website.

And I can't wait for White Hot (Hidden Legacy, #2) by Ilona Andrews to come out too, Deborah, in May & #3 Wildfire is out in August I think. Yay!!

I finished Blood of the Earth (Soulwood, #1) by Faith Hunter yesterday and bought the next one as soon as I finished it. A very complex book just as you'd expect from Faith Hunter.

Agreed on Harper but Riddick has me sold with the brooding in the bar and then coming out to save her.

I have only read a couple of chapters of Blood of The Earth. It's clearly complicated. I was kinda wondering if I was going to like it, and I've not felt that way about the other Faith Hunter books I've read. I am so glad to hear how much you liked it.

message 708: by Alisa (new)

Alisa Did anyone read Feedback (Newsflesh, #4) by Mira Grant ? I'm super confused with the ending and have a question. (view spoiler) I don't understand. Is there going to be another book?

I don't know for sure, but I felt like there was going to be another one with their adventure still going.

I'm so glad we get 2 of them next year since we had to wait so long just for the next one. :)

I almost just lost my mind seeing there was another book but then I read the synopsis and it doesn't feature the characters of the trilogy. :( How does it compare for you?

I found it a bit odd, mostly because you know what was going on. But it was fun seeing things from a different point of view, one who ended up seeing more of what happened behind the curtain.

I liked it but I didn't love it and I didn't think it was as good as the original three books. I liked the characters and it is interesting seeing the election from the other side. There weren't any OMG moments like in the first books. There are a few cross over characters.

message 716: by Alisa (new)

Alisa I finished up Shadow's Claim (Immortals After Dark, #13; The Dacians, #1) by Kresley Cole which was ok. I didn't like the heroine. It's a good set up for the book coming out in March though. Decided to be completely caught up by then and moved straight in to MacRieve (Immortals After Dark, #14) by Kresley Cole which I'm liking a lot. I find I like the Lykae stories better than the ones about the vampires.

♥ Ashleigh ♥ Contrary to popular belief I'm not actually mad! (cheshire_red) So it's been a while sinc I've updated and I'm sure I've missed a few books. But anyways I've recently finished:
India Black (Madam of Espionage, #1) by Carol K. Carr REALLY enjoyed this book, was an absolute blast.
The Diabolical Miss Hyde (Electric Empire, #1) by Viola Carr Not as good as India Black but still quite enjoyable.
The Ghost Bride by Yangsze Choo The main character was a complete moron, but there was some good moments to the book. Was a pretty big fan of the writing.
Crooked Kingdom (Six of Crows, #2) by Leigh Bardugo LOVED LOVED LOVED

Currently reading:
Breath Of Earth (Breath of Earth, #1) by Beth Cato Only just started, seems alright so far.

Dawn (dawnv) | 4058 comments It has been a while since I posted anything.

Here is what I have been reading

Marked in Flesh (The Others, #4) by Anne Bishop
Not sure what took me so long to read this one. I really enjoyed it but there is a lot of moving parts and at times it got a little confusing like who is this guy again?

One Lucky Vampire (Argeneau, #19) by Lynsay Sands
One of my goals was to catch up with this series this year. I have not made it yet but I have been making steady progress so that is rather exciting!

Dark Protector (Moon Shifter, #6) by Katie Reus
This one was ok, I dunno maybe it was because there was not enough of the other characters around or maybe it was the vampire involvement but for me it was just ok

I am now reading Forevermore (Darkest London, #7) by Kristen Callihan bummed this is the last book

I thought the Katie Reus one was just meh...too. There are much better ones in the series.

I find it more so with her shifter series than her Red Stone RS series.

If you are ok with romance or romantic suspense they are pretty good. Fast easy reads.

Same you know I have never even looked at her other series. But I am not big on modern day romance.

message 728: by Sandra, Need more time to Read!! (new)

Sandra | 4736 comments I read so much contemporary stuff when I was younger that I usually just don't bother any more. It wasn't till I was in my 30's that pnr/uf started being written. I'm really glad of the change LOL

I feel like there isn't as much pnr/uf being written now as a few years ago, so I've had to add contemporary stuff to fill out my reading.

message 730: by Sandra, Need more time to Read!! (new)

Sandra | 4736 comments True, but I've been stockpiling LOL.

Shera (Book Whispers) (sherabookwhispers) | 127 comments The UF/PNR scene has become scarce. Especially in adult. Hopefully like all things it will circle back and have a comeback.

message 732: by Dawn, Desperately seeking new worlds (new)

Dawn (dawnv) | 4058 comments @Shera Totally agree that the UF/PN scene has become really limited. I hope when it does recycle we can get a little diversity. Like a UF book that takes place in New Zealand or Asian vampires.

@Sandra me too!! There is stuff in boxes and series to finish lol

@Darcy I have moved to historical romance.

Same I find I am actually really picky.
You know what is funny is I actually got started with them because of Jennifer Ashley and Karen Marie Moning
Let me know if you would like some recommendations.

I agree, diversity would be nice. I know paranormal elements are hitting the historical genres more.

I've thought about checking out the Jennifer Ashley ones as I like her other series. Might have to put those on the list for next year.

When it comes to diversity, I really enjoyed Signal to Noise by Silvia Moreno-Garcia which is set in Mexico. She has another book out Certain Dark Things by Silvia Moreno-Garcia also set in Mexico, but I haven't read that one yet.

Shera (Book Whispers) (sherabookwhispers) | 127 comments Just finished Darkness Brutal (The Dark Cycle #1) by Rachel A. Marks which is one of the better UF YA reads.

Starting up Fair Game (Alpha & Omega, #3) by Patricia Briggs .
