How do you get the book picture in your message?

message 652: by Sandra, Need more time to Read!! (new)

Sandra | 4736 comments Howard, just above the comment box it says add book/author, just click on that and put in the name of the book and then choose either link or cover.

Cover gives you the picture, link gives the name of the book as a link (the cover is also a link).

Carolyn Denman | 4 comments I've just finished Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? which was weird but fascinating. Can't wait to get back to some good SFF or UF now though. Might give this one a go Hero

message 654: by Alisa (new)

Alisa I/m currently listening to Feedback (Newsflesh, #4) by Mira Grant which I'm really liking.

I have arc's of Dragon Spawn (World of the Lupi, #13) by Eileen Wilks Curse on the Land (Soulwood, #2) by Faith Hunter and Shadowed Souls by Kerrie L. Hughes none of which I've even been able to open because of work and parenting and stupid adulting in general. *boo, hiss*

That really sucks because all are great series and ones I've been looking forward to.

I liked Feedback, liked that we got the other side, but the ending, wow, if you thought the others were downers, it's nothing compared to this one.

Alisa @Darcy.....Nooooooo!!!!! Don't tell me that. (although I think after The Day the Dead Come to Show & Tell, nothing will surprise me. This author's mean like that.

That one was brutal!

message 659: by [deleted user] (new)

I am deep into the Jane Yellowrock series and The Elementals just arrived for pickup at my local library! arghhh... can I actually make myself pause? anyone read The Elementals? I heard it's super scary and it should fit with the October Quickie Challenge, right?

message 660: by Sandra, Need more time to Read!! (new)

Sandra | 4736 comments Not sure which Elementals you mean Sarah, there are a couple of series with that name.

message 661: by [deleted user] (new)

oh! the one by Michael McDowell.

message 662: by Sandra, Need more time to Read!! (new)

Sandra | 4736 comments Don't know that one Sarah, but if its scary it would certainly fit the challenge :)

message 663: by [deleted user] (new)

I will let you know!

I've always wondered about this book, since it's the one Bladerunner is based on. (I watch/read the credits, lol).

message 665: by Sandra, Need more time to Read!! (new)

Sandra | 4736 comments Reading Wulf and the Bounty Hunter (Coletti Warlords, #6) by Gail Koger and once again its fabulously OTT.

message 666: by Howard (new)

Howard Siegel | 4 comments I've finished the first book King's Dragon and have started book two Prince of Dogs. There are multiple story lines, maybe too many.

Anne | 318 comments I am currently reading By a Thread (Elemental Assassin, #6) by Jennifer Estep . Lovin' this series.

♥ Ashleigh ♥ Contrary to popular belief I'm not actually mad! (cheshire_red) Totally forgot I was listening to Hex and the City (Nightside, #4) by Simon R. Green . Instead I started listening to The Coldest Girl in Coldtown by Holly Black which was surprisingly good, I was bummed to find out it was a stand alone, I'd love more books with these characters. The narrator did a wonderful job.

I also finished Heart of Steel (Iron Seas, #2) by Meljean Brook IMO better than the first, but the third one looks a little cringy - based off the sample I read, so I'm going to put it off for a while.
And read Truthwitch (The Witchlands, #1) by Susan Dennard not as good as I had hoped but not bad at all, I'll def be reading book 2. Love the characters, and I loved how the two MC's were both females and besties <3

So now I'll either go back to Nightside or When Demons Walk (Sianim, #3) by Patricia Briggs except it's been a while so I wouldn't mind re-reading the series except I don't appear to have Steal the Dragon which is annoying.

Dawn (dawnv) | 4058 comments Finished Magic Binds (Kate Daniels, #9) by Ilona Andrews it is so weird to this series is coming to an end. The book was awesome as always (view spoiler)

I also finished Dreamwalker (Stormwalker, #5) by Allyson James this book felt like it could have been the last book in the series. It is supposed to continue but I think the future books will be different. Oddly I am satisfied either way.

I like Holly Black she is the only YA author I will read on an ongoing basis. I also enjoyed the Coldest Girl in Coldtown!

it was really good wasn't it? I didn;t think I'd be all that interested in a YA vampire romance book (not that that was all it was) but after hearing an audio sample I knew I had to give it a go. It's nice how complex the characters were - something that YA sadly misses quite a bit. I really enjoyed how self-aware the main character was as well. I'll def be checking out more of her books - any you highly recommend?

message 674: by Dawn, Desperately seeking new worlds (new)

Dawn (dawnv) | 4058 comments ♥ Ashleigh ♥ wrote: " ...any you highly recommend"

I really enjoyed her modern fairy tales I think it was three books like Tithe and Valient. I also like her Curse Workers series. I only read the first one in that series but it was still awesome!

I am glad you mentioned her it has been awhile since I read any of her stuff I think I will double back.

message 675: by Mary (new)

Mary | 1 comments I'm loving this series right now. It's funny and snarky, and has a kick-ass heroine (who is also a little quirky and silly sometimes) and sexy hero.

Semi-Charmed (Harper Hall Investigations #1) by Isabel Jordan Semi-Human (Harper Hall Investigations, #2) by Isabel Jordan Semi-Twisted by Isabel Jordan

message 680: by Dawn, Desperately seeking new worlds (new)

Dawn (dawnv) | 4058 comments I read Shiftless by Aimee Easterling it is free on amazon and I think kobo. It is a romance book but no sex just a woman confronting her past. I will probably check out the next one at some point.

Now I am reading Heart of Darkness (Bound by Magick, #1) by Lauren Dane it is a super sweet like a Hallmark movie

message 681: by Deborah (new)

Deborah Wilde Have loved the Elemental Assassin series but Unraveled (Elemental Assassin, #15) by Jennifer Estep just felt like too much same same. Spinning out plot for the sake of continuing the series.

message 682: by Sandra, Need more time to Read!! (new)

Sandra | 4736 comments I've got Shiftless by Aimee Easterling free too Dawn, haven't read it yet though.

And whilst I love the Elemental Assassin series, I'm a few books behind, so not up to Unraveled (Elemental Assassin, #15) by Jennifer Estep yet. (So weird to me to spell unraveled that way. LOL)

Finished Archangel's Heart (Guild Hunter, #9) by Nalini Singh and loved it. Though I did read a few reviews that thought it started slow, but I didn't think so. It was NY with bluebell & sparkle, so it was fine by me.

message 683: by Deborah (new)

Deborah Wilde Finished The Obsession by Nora Roberts Made me remember how much I enjoy a good Nora Roberts.

Dawn (dawnv) | 4058 comments Finished Wolf Unbound (Cascadia Wolves, #4) by Lauren Dane I wanted to finish this series or at least get to Cade's book but recently they are unavailable and well I am not sure how invested I am.

I think I am going to take a break from PNR/UF and read Creativity, Inc. Overcoming the Unseen Forces That Stand in the Way of True Inspiration by Ed Catmull

I'm betting she got her rights back on them and will probably be re-releasing them again. She has done that with a different series.

Anne | 318 comments Curse on the Land (Soulwood, #2) by Faith Hunter - very complicated story so far.

message 688: by Dawn, Desperately seeking new worlds (last edited Nov 19, 2016 10:31AM) (new)

Dawn (dawnv) | 4058 comments I did not take a break as planned instead I ended up reading Consumed (Deep in Your Veins, #4) by Suzanne Wright Fractured (Deep in Your Veins, #5) by Suzanne Wright

I think Suzanne Wright is probably my favorite self-published author.

Both were really easy reads. I like how she has taken the focus off the main couple in the first three books and brought in new couples. But I hope we get another Sam and Jared book.

message 689: by Sandra, Need more time to Read!! (new)

Sandra | 4736 comments I keep meaning to read Fractured (Deep in Your Veins, #5) by Suzanne Wright I think that's the only one of hers I haven't read yet. And yes love Sam & Jared :)

I realized I was two behind then I was super excited like YAY.

message 691: by Dawn, Desperately seeking new worlds (new)

Dawn (dawnv) | 4058 comments I finished Archangel's Heart (Guild Hunter, #9) by Nalini Singh this book moved a bit slower than what I am used to but I really enjoyed it. Glad to go back to my favorite couple. The shocker was no smexy scenes - well there was one but it was brief.

In enjoyed Clean Sweep. I like the world, the concept and the characters. It felt short. I wanted it to keep going, and I wanted more character development, so I am looking forward to Sweep in Peace. I feel like the world was developed quite nicely. I bought the actual book, so I paid way more than $5. The third one will be in book form later this month but only on Kindle. I struggle with reading electronically. I know it's up on their website, but...
