Match One: Montrose Magpies v Team Who Must Not Be Named. Start 5 Jun @5pm PST

Lexi wrote: "I can go with that. Alysa will change her book to the right one and reset the timer."No need in this case, because they both have Cinderella in the title. So I can stick with the Cook-Off one.
ETA: length question.
Maybe we should wait for Cat to answer, and in meantime both reset timers. Because this "you can attack any seeker task book at any time" is not something I would ever have thought of, once the book has been reported in.
In which case this attack only makes sense based on Common Word in Title.
It matters which one is the orginal book because matching word must be longer. Hence, why we need a mod.
Ummmm.... I think that I thought any was fair game, even if its been turned in (cos the catch book is off limits)
Let's stick with that, but say each find book can only be attacked once?
Feedback after the game is over?

Thank you, Cat. How do you want us to handle time minimums with this confusion?

Okay, so, can both sides do a timer reset?
Because I lost a lot of time simply waiting for the answer in this case, and now I will need to defend with Sinfull Cinderella instead of Cook-off... of which I have only read 2 pages, lol.

I am fine with that.
Does the same apply to attacking chaser books?
I think so. No one has attacked the same chaser book twice that I have seen. There are so many of those anyways.
We're at 36 min ago for Magpies and 18 min ago for me for Sinful Cinderella.Wanna use this post as the point of reference for time?
ETA: to be clear -
TWMNBN Beater Defense
Alysa is reading Sinful Cinderella, 4:14pm
(but Magpies only have 18 min lead time, not 36 min)
I've no idea what the issue is with timings? I'm in the bath! Brains have melted with the hot water!
Thought the Not Seeker had finished a Cinderella book already and then started a second which book was the M&Ms beater distracting? (hint: helpful in posts to be clear!)
Oh. Umm... So the cool air from sitting up is working. Yeah. Basically the delay happens once the distraction is finished.
So when if the M&M beater finishes before the defence the seeker has to pause, whether its the current book or not
PS same is true of chasers. If the beater finishes a book they've already finished they still need to pause even if they are on the next score run (unless already defended)

PPS it's 9.20 for me. I'll be in bed reading for pleasure within the hour so will be unavailable for pov after that. And the other mods have washed their hands of the Quidditch insanity, so you'll need to work out your own solutions amicably! (you've been doing fabulously on that front so far, so I've no worries)
So... Hit me up with any more burning concerns now!

Both Rebecca's current book and previous book have the word Cinderella in the title, and they have different min read times. We didn't know which one we were defending, and had to pick a defense book based on min read time of whichever was being considered Rebecca's book under attack.
Apparently that is Sinful Cinderella (so I have to read that now), and not Cinderella Cook-Off (would have been shorter).
Team Who Must Not Be Named Chasers using the chaos on the field as a distraction. They sneak quietly down the field in the hopes of a another score. Chain #10

Ha! The last Slytherin match I played we attacked chaser books a couple of times! If you want to agree that each book can only be attacked once though I'm cool with it!

Seeker Rebecca and her friend Cinderella are back from the cook off and headed to check to see if The Witch Doctor Is In (read a book with wings on the cover)***edited to add task (sorry)***
Despite the slight chaos, Beater Lexi finishes the attack on seeker Ambi and distracts her with I Got This: To Gold and Beyond.
wow! it was sufficiently chaotic / I was enjoying my bath so much that I missed the Magpie seeker taking to the air!
As a quick rundown, we've got
- Not team quaffle intact
- M&M keeper ready to smash said quaffle?
- Not team on 7 scores, chain of three in progress
- M&Ms on 1 score, quaffle repair underway
- Not seeker found 2? 3? items?
- M&M seeker on the hunt for item 1?
????????!

Montrose Magpies Beater DefenceBeater Kim sees Alysa go after Ambi and sets out to stop her from distracting her seeker.
She is reading A Wizard of Earthsea
Magpies Keeper Completion Keeper Hazel's arms seem to double in length as she lunges towards to goals, balanced precariously on her broom, and stops the quaffle from going through, then catching herself neatly as though it were child's play.
Hazel has finished reading How to Marry a Marquis by Julia Quinn to break the quaffle at Q
Magpies Keeper Substitution Keeper Nikk High fives Hazel on a amazing save as she heads back on field to resume her position
TWMNBN Quaffle repair...The glue didn't quite hold from the last Quaffle repair, so Jenny is trying the industrial strength QUAFFLEATOR brand glue.
