I am confused by your post - this task only involves your mother/father's lifetime and your own year of birth - the author's year of birth (which doesn't seem accurate in your post) is not involved in this task.

It looks like I might be missing one Big Book ticket on the readerboard. My records show I have claimed 7 (3 books >500 pages, 2 books >750 pages). I most recently claimed a BB ticket in post 1886. Thanks for checking!

That's cuz I'm silly and originally misunderstood the task, later correctly understood the task, but then never updated the wording in my spreadsheet. I'm a dolt! The years I put in my post are not their birth years (which is what it says), they're the years published. Let me know if I need to repost to remove that incorrect detail.
Sally wrote: "Sandy wrote: "The years I put in my post are not their birth years (which is what it says), they're the years published. Let me know if I need to repost to remove that incorrect detail.."
The problem is not the inclusion of the incorrect info - that was just confusing. However, there's nothing in the post indicating that these books were not published during your lifetime.

Oh, I see! I thought it was enough to simply note 1984 as the end for each set of years. I can repost with a line adding that 1984 is my birth year.

Great.... it was literally there when I posted, I double checked. I have no idea why it would be there for two months and then just mysteriously vanish but hey why should I be surprised? Nothing goes smoothly for me no matter how hard I try.
Do I need to do anything special to move it to task 15.5? Or just post again using that task?

nothing special, you didn't get credit for the task, so the book can be used wherever you like.

We work with the author name shown in the GR record for the book - you cannot substitute a full name if the author is shown on GR as being an initial, so "Shannon" cannot be used instead of "S.A."
Please see the FAQs
"6. What about if an author uses initials but I know that his/her full name fits an author name task, can I use that author?
No. The name as it appears on Goodreads will be used."

In order to claim a BB ticket, your post must include the number of pages - "over 500" is not sufficient. See the posting requirements
You have received credit for the task - if you repost to claim a BB ticket, be sure to indicate at the top of your post that this is what you are doing.
