What I don't understand, is how and why Tella is Jacks' true love? That makes zero sense. How and why?

I knew she would end up sacrificing herself.
I honestly truly don't get why people hate Tella..

Honestly I think Scarlett was acting so reckless and stupid in this one. But Scarlett has always been so self centered and narrow-minded in my opinion... (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[I'm so glad we finally found out who Legendary is. I was really feeling bad for Tella in the book on several occasions.

For her to find out that her mother had offered her up, it would have been heartbreaking. Honestly, I was a little surprised that Tella still desperately wanted to be with her mom and to support her. It's not like she had a huge presence in her life.

I have to admit that I did get kind of bored in this book. I enjoyed it but there were some portions that just didn't capture me. Overall glad I read it and I jumped right into Finale. I couldn't help it. Partially because I wanted to know how everything went but also because I'm really looking forward to getting back to the other connected series. (hide spoiler)]

I definitely feel that book 1 was more of a mindfuck because it was really playing us.
I felt that this one had its twists but some were kind of predictable. I did enjoy it immensely though.
I am so intrigued by Jacks.

I also feel that her mother didn't intend to give her up.
Her sentence was cut abruptly so we didn't hear what else she said, and I feel she thought it would never come to this, or she believed Tella would be cunning enough to get out of it.
She didn't give Scarlett because she knew Scarlett would be naive and sacrifice herself immediately.... that's my theory... (hide spoiler)]

Finished - I jumped into this one over the holidays and wasn't close to my computer unfortunately so I just have thoughts that I wrote down to add later!

I really wasn't feeling the game Scarlett created between Julian and Nicholas. I know she was upset about him not contacting her but it seemed silly. I'm glad she eventually owned up to it and was honest with him. The family being frozen by Poison was wild. This book was definitely very entertaining!

I thought it was interesting that they could be in each other's dreams.

I hated that Jacks forced Tella to love him. But also loved that her love for Legend was able to break it!

I didn't really understand Tella's need to have someone there for her mom when she woke up. She seemed to desperately want a relationship with her but her mother was never there for her and she also found out that her mother had promised her specifically, not Scarlett.

I thought it was really interesting how if an immortal feels true love they will become mortal. They also noted that an immortal would rather kill their true love instead. I'm guessing that this is really setting up Once Upon a Broken Heart.

Wild that Stella is Gavriel's daughter. I LOVED that Stella could see people's emotions. Thank goodness she didn't go through with taking away Julian's love for her and replacing it with hate. That would have been horrible. I was a little afraid for a minute that she actually would.

They mentioned Tella's daughter but I don't think they ever revealed the name of the daughter in this book.

I enjoyed the ending. It was ok. I will say that I was getting bored during this one. I was ready for the series to be done. I think there was almost too much happening. (hide spoiler)]

what are the fated immortals? do we know them? I thought we only knew about the fates, the objects, and the places

I can't remember exactly where you're at but I think they're just referring to the fates that are immortal.

There's more I can say but I don't know want to spoil things and I can't remember what happens/is revealed when haha.

this is still early on she is recaping and said that there's 36 fates and 16 fated immortals but I just don't remember who and what they are, so I am assuming that has something to do with her and Legend..

I don't like Scarlett in this one.
This I want space and I want to meet someone else but I want you on standby for me attitude with Julian is bothering me.

I suppose some kind of gane will happen, it is Caraval after all. But I hope it's not this courtship game.
I don't think Nicholas is bad, but I think he might win and that would just be tough. I love Julian too much for that.

I also still don't understand how Tella is Jacks' true love. I suppose that will be explained in OUABH, but I hurt for him.
I hope we get to see him happy in OUABH.

The Paloma death is... wrong.
Part of me doesn't believe she's dead. It was too quick.
I also wonder if what Paloma said to Tella when she was young will come back into play. The last memory of her, the one Aiko took. She was saying something about trapping or killing a fate.

What is the Legend's one weakness? And what is then the Fallen's star weakness?
I am thinking the rose tattoo is the source of magic?
I asked about what Paloma said because I don't think the fates will die.
Some will yes. But I think they'll be trapped again.

Is Paloma/Paradise a fate? She sure dressed like one.
And since her death was too quick to be believable, I think she'll come back.
Jacks didn't allow Tella to change it because he knows she'll come back... that's my theory for now.

Honestly, there are some unanswered questions in this one and it kind of annoyed me. I thought I had missed something along the way with a few things and ended up looking them up but it seems some things are not answered, not in this book at least.

I knew this was the explanation.
And it is so interesting to watch how she was the one to come to that understanding, by doing something similar to her own daughter.

I am very interested to see if we will ever meet the daughter and why she's important.
The temple of the stars said something similar about Tella, about her being important and powerful, no? Or was it about Scarlett? (hide spoiler)]
