Poe has an album that goes along with the book. I can't remember which one, but I tried listening to it once as I read. It really enhances the creepy factor.

Matthew Catania | 4 comments My publisher, Booktrope, is shutting down. That means the eBook & print editions of my book, The Dolorous Adventure of Brother Banenose by Matthew Catania The Dolorous Adventure of Brother Banenose, will be discontinued on June 1. So now would be the optimal time to get it. I'm inviting all of you to a small event to raise awareness of this:

Thank you all for your support!

Kari | 4 comments Hi all, I'm Kari!

I had no idea that TMS fans had a group on Goodreads, but it makes sense now that I think about it. TMS fans are fairly bookish, in general ;)

I'm currently re-reading The Goblin Emperor by Katherine Addison . I actually read it for the first time not long ago, but it really stuck with me, so I'm giving it another go!

I just finished Stiletto (The Checquy Files, #2) by Daniel O'Malley and really enjoyed it. It's a sequel, but it manages to be just as fun as the first book.

Finally, I'm anxiously awaiting City of Miracles (The Divine Cities, #3) by Robert Jackson Bennett , which is the final book in the trilogy. It can't be May fast enough!!

What are y'all reading?

rin (rintroversion) Hi anybody reading, I've been lurking for several weeks.

I have a pile of books for this group and another that I joined, although I'm just finishing off a non-fic book on black women comics creators: Black Women in Sequence: Re-Inking Comics, Graphic Novels, and Anime

Enjoyed reading Hyperbole and a Half as chosen by this group! It had been on my list of things I'd like to read for a while. :)

Anita (anitafajitapitareada) Hi Kari and Emmeline! Welcome to the group. I've been meaning to read the Goblin Emperor for a while, everyone I know has read it except me. I will also have to add Inked to my list. It hits like 4 of my reading preferences :)

glad to have you both here and hope you'll jump in on book discussions and nominations! There is a nomination thread for next month going on right now, it's the best way to introduce some great reads to the club ;)

Elysia | 3 comments Hi, I’m Elysia and I’m new here. I took a look at this group/the website’s page and it seemed really cool.

Currently-due to school-I’m on break from reading, Sputnik sweetheart, by Haruki Murakami. It can be defined as surrealist towards the end, but I feel it’s pretty realistic. It’s a book about questioning ones roles in society and family, and I like how the book addresses the distress that one inherits from forcing the self to be someone they aren’t. The book also looks into gender, sexuality, and the concept of being trapped in another world.

I love Japanese lit, graphic novels which question good and evil, and comics that place women in extreme positions. Like how to cope with trauma, why is it women tend to gain strength in a lot of literature (fiction) through supernatural means, and so on.

Well, that’s my little bio.
