Series Challenge - Scoring Progress for Valerie

Here is my plan:

1. Earn one credit for each series in which I finish the current/last book.
2. Earn one credit for every five books that I read from a series that is not the first or most current.
3. Lose one credit each time a read the first book of a new series.
4. Club reads do not count toward new series losses.
5. Goal: End the year with credit(s).

Simple and easy, but hopefully concise enough to help me reach my goal of finishing series.

Congratulations on the first credit earned. I like the credit for finishing the current/last book. I'm still trying to figure out a reward for getting current on series that are still awaiting new books as opposed to old series that are known to be complete.

Thanks. I really wanted to jump start the year.

The way I am handling this is if I read the most recently published book this year, I get one credit (however, I will only get one credit per series, even if there is an unlikely event that two books are published from the same series in one year).

Also, I am not counting series related short stories toward this goal, unless it is a full compilation of shorts related to just that series.
