SOLVED. NA Novel about American girl on exchange programme in Scotland [s]

Hey there,

I'm desperately trying to remember the name of a book I read.
I'll tell you what I can remember:

It's about an American girl who wants to be a cop but as per parents instruction she is studying law. She goes on an exchange programme to Scotland where she bumps into her ex and his current girlfriend.
They both still have feelings for each other and drama ensues.

Either his is, or his mates are in a band.
Towards the end of the book, the group of friends take a trip to the highlands....

Any suggestions? I'm at my wits end haha.
