So I remember reading this book sometime in 2006-08. Its about two or three teenagers that somehow get shipwrecked in this island with a mad scientist. The scientist actually starts experimenting on them and making them into animal hybrids. I'm pretty sure one was turned into some kind of reptile hybrid and the other a bird hybrid. In the end they are rescued, but I think they have to live with the reprecusions of the experiments. I think the title had the word island in it too.
