2015 reading challenge
I'm up for this, I am doing a similar challenge on another group, hopefully I can include books in both challenges.
I do that all the time, combine challenges so I can complete a few with at least half the books repeating themselves in each challenge :)
Are you doing this challenge Alma? Its a pretty big challenge so was thinking 18 months to complete?Anybody else up for doing it?
I think use this section to discuss the books used in the challenge, I will create a new discussion for putting up the lists.
Yes I done a list of the books, which you can copy, then just add books to them and tick them off when you have read them. I'll leave my list blank for a while so anybody can just copy that list if they want.
How was that fables book? Not heard of that one before. I got my graphic novel from the library at the weekend. The Discworld Graphic Novels: The Colour of Magic & The Light Fantastic and so far I am not impressed, if I had already read the book then this would make no sense at all, the drawings are really good, especially the princess in the chainmail bikini.
Fables is really great, kind of what ABC's Once Upon A Time tries to be I think. Interesting twist on fairytales, great characters and the artwork is fantastic.Oh, I'd love to read the Discworld Graphic Novels. Terry Pratchett writes such good books, his imagination is just beyond words.
Question, does it count as short stories if I choose a fairytale book? I mean those are technically short stories right?
I really like once upon a time, I have one episode of once upon a time in wonderland left, it has got to be the worst spin-off ever.
So I finished the challenge to read something my Mom loves
and I'm so glad its something I loved too because we kind of have a different taste most of the time
Well done Tinka, I think we have that book, my daughter wanted it and then it ended up living on the shelf.
Has anyone found a good way to find authors with their initials? I went through a bunch of lists and couldn't really find anything
What's your initials? I was thinking of changing that one to shares first name with you.Put down your initials here and we can look.
We have for some reason shares the first name in our list, but it actually is 'the same initials'Btw mine are I.S
I was being cheeky and renamed it to first name as I thought initials would be tough to find.Ness if you like vampire novels then try this one Blood Diva author is V. M. Gautier, close enough I think. It is a very good book.

Iain Sinclair has some interesting sounding books on London
And
Imelda stark does some erotic books. :)
Ness wrote: "I'm not really into vampire novels, but I guess I'll take what I can get :)"Ah! Ok then, how about crime novels?
Val McDermid is a pretty big author
No, I was more thinking about Iain Sinclair, except I find something more interesting, but he'll probably do
Too easy.Alexander Dumas, the count of monti Christo is a great book and will cross one book off the Gilmore challenge too.
Anna Dale might be more your thing though, not read her before.
Maybe a bit of Sherlock by Arthur Conan Doyle.
So I added
to my list under the category 'New Author to You' because I never even heard about David Sedaris before finding this one
Hahaha, he created Sherlock, I would check out his author profile and find book 1, they are all really good stories and you may even get hooked, a lot of them are quite short too.
7th book done. Grundish and Askew awesome book, you should all give it a go, I would like to see how far you get before you are grossed out.
Jason wrote: "Yep,ts what I was planning, thought that was why you were reading it."I was originally just reading it for the Rory Gilmore Challenge. I don't know much about Stephen King's publishing history so I had no idea
I'm already stuck because i started reading Naked Lunch for the banned book one. It's so difficult to read, i'm already thinking about switching to the german translation... but my pride is stopping me... :D
