ABANDONED. YA Fantasy. Boy kills troll using tricks, king asks for his help. Weakness is bees.

Basically in the book this boy manages to kill and old troll using trickery. He is then ask for help by the king. I believe trolls attack his castle several times until the boys able to figure out the trolls weakness which is bees. The trolls are also being controlled by one person who knows their weakness

I think it was in the early 2000s it was kinda a teen novel fairly easy to read but not a child's bookd
