io9 published a list of it's favorite 2014 science books:

http://io9.com/the-best-science-books...

Most of them seem to be pop science and I must admit I haven't read any, although I have purchased Being Mortal: Medicine and What Matters in the End and hope to read it soon.

What was your favorite science book of those you did read last year? Mine was The Sixth Extinction: An Unnatural History. Fascinating, easy reading, well written.

BetseaK | 54 comments Thanks, Betsy. I haven't read any from the list, either.
Of those I read last year, my favorite one was Consciousness and the Brain: Deciphering How the Brain Codes Our Thoughts

An excellent look into a world that I would otherwise know nothing about.

Yes, I enjoyed that miniseries, too.

Some of my favorite science books from 2014 were from National Graphic (I believe it was one on the body and its various...functions). I also read a book on the controversy surrounding orcas in captivity. It's called Death In Seaworld I think.
