Clickers II-Buddy Read

I'm in. I got a copy. Let me know when you start.
Add me. I read Clickers years ago and have always wanted to read the second. Am trying to read more books and participate in more group reads in 2015.

Looking forward to it, Charlene. Trying to be a slave of books in the evening rather than my stupid phone.
Maxine wrote: "I'm reading the first one now in hopes of being able to buddy read #2 with you guys! Count me in."I'll add you in, Maxine! :)
It's possible I'll be a little late to the party, because I just started
, one of my Christmas gifts, and it's a big one, so if my reading time is more scarce this week, I may not finish. But I'll be here, I promise! :-)
I started this two nights ago. I don't remember the details of the first one, except for the fact that I remember really liking its B-movie factor roller coaster ride. Hope this one measures up.
Yes, I was planning on starting the second full week in January, so that would be starting on the 12th.

No worries, I might start a little early myself, depending on how quickly I get my current book done.
Really disappointed at how the book starts. I know a story has to be set up, but it's just page after page of isolated incidents of clicker killings. While it's enjoyable to read about the many ways a head or body can be severed by giant claws, I am impatient to meet the person/group that we are supposed to root for.

Got past them, and I'm into some characters who may or may not get clipped by the clickers...
OK. Good. I am used to this kind of set up at the beginning of stories, but I was wondering when the story was going to actually start. Thanks.

We'll see you when you get here.
Charlene wrote: "Yeah, Eleven is here! :)"Yeah I forgot already even though we just finished book 1. I'll run out for some Ritalin and good to go.
Every year I make a resolution to not read two or three books at the same time, and every year I break it. Started Clickers, then the fat Walking Dead compendium, and a Simon Clark book all at the same time. But I will still read Clickers and join the conversation. I just have to get over that lengthy news clipping/setting up scenario hump. That really should have been cut down, IMO. Makes the BEGINNING of the story drag.
I'm really hoping to start tomorrow. I had every intention of finishing Coldbrook over the weekend, but it just didn't happen - too much stuff to do at home.I'm going to read this before deciding which of the group reads I'm going to do - guess I'm just starting the year behind... :-)

The headlines were fun...for a while. It was good to get into the story.
I'm alternating this with "Botany for Gardeners," a book on plant biology for the non-math/science layperson.
Quite the contrast.
Click-click-click.
I read the prologue and the first few pages of the first chapter, so I really haven't made a dent yet. I kinda get the complaints about the number of news stories, but I see what they were going for (that there was a buildup of activity over a number of years) and I really didn't have an issue with it. It definitely started with a bang as far as action goes once I hit chapter 1!
I finished a lovely little splatterfest of a novella,
Moving onto Clickers tonight. I must be on a B-movie/book kick. I love this stuff.

Tribesmen looks great, Eleven. I promised myself I wouldn't buy anymore books for a month, so its going to have to go on my list!

I made it to 36% tonight! I am doing some buddy reading acrobatics right now, I'm telling you. Anywhooo...I found that once I got past the news reports at the beginning, the story began to move quickly. Rick is back and all hell has broken loose on the eastern seaboard. Also (36%) (view spoiler).

Yeah, I'm where Livingston has just laid down the law at a meeting...
Charlene wrote: "That's exactly where I am, Katy!"So...great minds...read alike? Procrastinate alike?
Or have the same length train ride, LOL?
I hate politics in my horror fiction regardless of which ideology is bludgeoning the other. One more direct shot at the Bush administration and I may quit. Is this a Keene thing? Grassroots fiction for the sake of political awareness?
It's killing my creature buzz. I have newspaper op-eds for all this other bullshit.
