Sandra (sanlema) | 11259 comments We'll miss it too, Lisa. We are having heavy rain right now. I think it will clear enough.

CFDeeDee I tried to look for it .. All what I saw was the moon .. I think city lights are making every thing disappear, not just the stars !

Mariab | 3059 comments @Rusalka. We just have to have overcadt sky today (...and probably tomorrow too). That is always so when some interesting phenomena takes place in the sky... my luck!

Mariab | 3059 comments as I read the other comments here... so much for sky watching in this opportunity

Janice (jamasc) | 59882 comments Overcast here too. In fact, it's forecasted for storms. We may have a light show of a different kind. I guess that means no fireworks for Canada Day tonight.

Sarah | 18549 comments No planet spotting for me either. the sky was gorgeous though when I looked out. we have lots of trees surrounding us (which explains my crap Internet connection) at the moment so I can only see a small strip of the sky running East to west. It was so hot here over night. I think it was about 20C outside. even with all the windows open, I couldn't sleep. so now I am knackered and have a 6.5 mile bike ride in the midday sun coming up. And it's supposed to be hotter today. But I am loving the nice weather when I can just relax. there are a couple of spots on the nearby river which are popular swimming spots. I think I might check one of them out tomorrow on my day off.

I'm knackered too, it was far too hot to sleep last night. Going to be a scorcher today so I reckon people won't be getting a lot of sleep tonight either. I don't envy you the bike ride Sarah! Make sure you have plenty of water with you!

Sarah | 18549 comments Made it to work without dying. It is very hot so i decided to leave a bit earlier to avoid midday. In the end it went a bit cloudy which was lucky for me. It didn't stop it from being hot and humid though. Must be about 30C today. I had plenty of fluids and a couple rest breaks too so it all worked out well. Sun is out again niw so i timed it well

Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19204 comments Jesus. 30 degrees. I've heard heat warnings on British train stations when it hits 20. Drink lots of water, Sarah!

message 3361: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18549 comments The train was bad yesterday as Windows don't open and they hadn't turned on aircon but the train home they'd worked it out, same for today. Crazy they have weather warning out today for hot weather. Don't know what we'd do if it were like this all the time (I think the same when it snows too) - as a nation we are so unprepared for either extreme of weather.

Lol, I know. If it's too cold, we can't cope. If it's too hot, we can't cope. I don't mind the heat but it's the humidity I can't stand and unfortunately it's really humid and sticky in my part of the UK today. Temperature is currently 31 degrees. There's bound to be thunderstorms at some point. Is it humid down Bristol way Sarah?

message 3363: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie There was a pretty amazing storm last night in Washington D.C. I have a cousin that lives near there and she shared this link on Facebook.

Stephanie I heard thunder last night but I don't think we got as much lightening and such as they did. At least, we didn't have a power outage or downed trees, thankfully :)
