Cryptonomicon is good

Tejas Janet (tejasjanet) | 3513 comments I went ahead and purchased e-copy of Theft of Swords so I could get started with book two in the Riyria Revelations. There was a waiting list at the library, and I felt like splurging a little to buy this : )

Also recently purchased Stumbling Toward the Buddha: Stories about Tripping over My Principles on the Road to Transformation, which I finished today. I read it as bedtime reading spread out over many weeks. Found it comforting.

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments I just ordered The Crown Tower and The Rose and the Thorn. Yay! More Hadrian and Royce!

message 105: by Cherie (new)

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments I just bought Captain's Peril for my Nook so that I can have a Star Trek book on my next Series Level. I have the next two in the trilogy, but I could not locate a printed copy that I wanted to pay for. His writing better be worth it. I got the other two at a library sale.

I was just thinking about picking this up today too. I can't decide!

Janice (jamasc) | 60109 comments I ended up getting a whispersync deal as well: The Bird Eater was $2.49 kindle & 1.99 audible..

I love those deals. Sometimes it is less expensive to buy the kindle and the audio together than it is to just purchase the audio. I was just looking at that for The Chronos Files series (for my series challenge). I can get books #1.5 & 2 on both Kindle and Audible for a total of $11, which is almost the cost of the audio of #1.5 alone.

Janice (jamasc) | 60109 comments Pragya, the buddy read for The House at Riverton starts March 1st. :)

All you spent was $20??

message 133: by Lynda (new)

Lynda | 836 comments Just got the complete Anne of Green Gables collection for my Nook for only $3.99. As my library didn't have the full series in e-reader form, this made me very happy.

message 134: by Mariab (new)

Mariab | 3059 comments @Lynda. The whole series can be found in Gutemberg project, as e-books in all formats

Thanks for the link...of course I already bought it, but not having paid too much for 9 books, I'm not too concerned. However, I've bookmarked that site and plan on exploring it.

message 137: by Mariab (new)

Mariab | 3059 comments Glad to help! (I had no teasing intentions)

I see some of my favourites in your book haul! Awesome.

message 140: by Rusalka, Moderator (new)

Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19222 comments You could build a bookshelf with those Pragya!

Some good picks there. Matches a lot of the ones sitting on my shelf to be read ;)

message 141: by Cherie (new)

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments Many of Pragya's books are waiting on my shelves needing to be read too, but that didn't keep me from picking up a few more tonight. Coffee and a chocolate crossiant prompted me to drive over to Barnes and Noble after my laundry was done. My bag full of books contains
Eleanor & Park
My Way
Foul Deeds Will Rise
The One and Only Ivan
Into the Wild
and Night of the Twisters, the last three from the young readers section. I don't see why I should miss out on what they are reading just because I am slightly out of their recommended reading age group.

YAY!

message 144: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments I just bought Patient Zero after all the chat we had in our team about this author and zombies during the toppler. And another book to add to my series challenge.

message 145: by Pragya (new)

Pragya (reviewingshelf) | 4069 comments Thank you, Janice, Yup, $20. They are all second hands but most are in pristine condition. :) I know. I was astounded when I got back home and saw the buddy read. I said 'Perfect'!

Thank you, TJ, Kristie and Kimberly.

Umm, well, Rusalka, I think I might need that. My bookshelf is full even without those in it. Lol.

Cherie, I have been wanting to read Eleanor & Park for so long. Look forward to your review.

I had no idea until the second book this whole series wasn't about zombies but rather just unique forms of terrorism

message 147: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments I'm intrigued even more Travis!

message 148: by Mariab (new)

Mariab | 3059 comments After a (long) while not buying physical books (only e-books) I received yesterday my copy of The Ancient Economy. Very Excited!

message 149: by Cherie (new)

message 150: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 60109 comments I picked up a couple of freebies from iBooks: The Last Quarrel: Episode 1 and Rise of the Dragons. Free series books! Woot! Woot! Like I need new series to start.
