I think it was a major driver of her self perception. She was so eager to be part of the community when she started school and it was a major blow when she was rejected. It was a major turning point in her doubting herself and fueled by the sins of her father.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3484 comments Absolutely. Not only is her father a murderer her mother has the reputation of a witch. She must wonder what foul genes are part of her makeup. She wants to strike out before her peers strike at her.
