I’m trying to think of where to go from here. I just escaped from the NSTT! I can’t believe it! But maybe I can contact Kenneth and see if he can come pick me up and bring me back to his base. That way I can speak with the kids and we can make a plan for our next move.

I take out my two phones. I throw one away and keep the other. I knew that Icarus was tracking my phone so that he could hear who I was calling. I bought a new one for personal things, stuff I didn’t want Icarus to hear about. I always made sure to call on the other one that was being tracked, often. I type Kenneth’s number into the cell. It rings a couple of times before he picks up.

“Hello?” His voice sounds strained, as if he were crying.

“Kenneth, it’s Nigel.”

“Ok….”

“Are you able to come and get me? And bring me back to your base?” He’s silent for a while.

“So, you escaped?”

“Yes. I’m not far away from the NSTT, and I want to get as far as possible. I thought this would give me a chance to talk to the kids.” I explain. He sighs.

“All right, I’ll be at the place I picked up the kids as soon as I can.”

“Thank you so much, Ken.” I end the call and then make my way over to the meeting spot.
