You've got mail for books?

Hello All, so I'm new here and I REALLY appreciate this group because yes, clean, sweet romances are all too rare!

and I don't really read a lot of romance, but the clean, sweet ones are nice. I like a fun plot with some heart to it.

My favourite romcom movie is You've got mail - fun plot, warmth, likeable characters. Is there any book counterpart?

I've recently read and loved Darcy Flynn - Eagle Eye and i also enjoyed Driving Miss Crazy by DJ Van Oos.

Could I get any further recommendations based on these titles. ?

Ive been trying the bookshelf one by one but a lot of it doesn't seem to be "it" and maybe i overlooked -by sheer title- the one that would work just as well as the above?

I'd appreciate some titles.

If you ever read Austenesque fiction, I think I can recommend a book that reminds me a bit of the movie because a lot of the action is delivered through e-mails. According to my standards it is clean because it draws a curtain on the bedroom; but it is frank about characters' feelings of lust. Not sure if that meets your standard.

I have a sweet romance (Cheesy Romance with the Billionaire) where the couple meets online & in person but don't realize it right away. The plot is different than You've Got Mail. But my sweet romances include a lot of humor.

The first two books in the series are currently free if you'd like to check them out.

One final note: I just skimmed the Bustle article and have read one of the books on the list: Eligible : A Modern Retelling of Pride & Prejudice by Curtis Sittenfeld. And I would warn you that it is definitely not clean! I liked it overall but found some parts very uncomfortable. So approach the list with caution.

You've Got Mail is one of my favorite movies. I was into reading so-called "chick lit" or women's fiction for a time. I loved Sophie Kinsella and Meg Cabot. You might like Meg's "Boy" series because it's also based on Jane Austen novels. Every Boy's Got One was my original favorite (the most Pride and Prejudice) then I read The Boy Is Back and that's based on Persuasion, my favorite Austen novel so that one is my new favorite.

My retelling of You’ve Got Mail just released from Macmillan. It’s a clean, sweet YA romance called How to Speak Boy.

Some other YAs that are like You’ve Got Mail are P.S. I Like You, Tell Me Three Things (I haven’t read it so I can’t vouch for how clean it is), Alex, Approximately (I haven’t read this one either, so again, I don’t know how clean it is), Recommended for You (I haven't read this one either), and Tweet Cute.

Sorry for suggesting some I haven’t read (and for only listing YA). I just wanted to list ones that I knew were retellings since I often see reviewers comparing How To Speak Boy to those, so I know of them.

Actually, I just recalled a title - Dear Mr Knightley by Katherine Reav, it takes the form of letters and is actually based on and borrows from daddy long legs, I read quite a bit ago and I don't think there was anything unclean about it.

It's Christian Jane Austen/classic lit fan-fiction.

I liked the Jane Austen takes the South series Mary Jane Hathaway and the Austen addicts series for modern Jan Austen adaptations Victoria Connelly

well Katherine did cite Daddy long legs as a source and there is the same sort of secret guardian as far as I recall so I guess it's a combination of both, i was more into the daddy long legs aspect of it, I suppose, it was quite nice to read.

There’s a book by Uzma Jalalludin ‘Hana Khan carries on’. You can try it if you love You’ve Got Mail. It’s different and completely clean!
