SOLVED. Children's chapter book about a boy named Michael who moved to Edmonton Alberta Canada. [s]

Children's chapter book. I read this book in 2005/2006. Main character is named Michael who is about 10-12 years old. He and his parents moved to Edmonton Alberta Canada. He becomes friends with his neighbor, who is also a boy. They talk about West Edmonton Mall (WEM) and go to the same school and then Michael sees a girl in his class that he likes and has a bit of a crush on.
Later on Michael and his neighbor friend hear that the girl is going to be having an all girls party during the summer and that it might be a pool party. The neighbor boy and Micheal were talking about it and his friend suggests that Michael should dress up as a girl and change his name to "Michelle" for a bit and hope to be invited to this party because they want to know what happens at an all girls party.
So Michael dresses as a girl with the help of his friend. The crush also lives quite close to the boys houses, sees "Michelle" and she invites "Michelle" to her party that she is having in a few days.
Then "Michelle" and the girl (crush) become friends and they start hanging out more and the boy neighbor gets jealous because he misses hanging out with Michael.
The author of the book is a male and is Canadian and might even be from Alberta because in the about the author section I remember reading that he once lived in Edmonton.
That's all I can remember so far and I have been trying to figure out and find this book for a long time.
