I'm going to use this topic to check-in with everyone and see how we're progressing. I know I've been reading too fast.

How is everyone's progress as we close our first week of reading?
Are there questions that we can answer that would help make the book more enjoyable/understandable?

I finished section 1 today. Really enjoying the book so far (and it was nice to get the Kindle freebie, since now I have three teenagers eyeing my paperback copy). I keep telling myself that this may be a slow burn of a book, one to sink into instead of race to the finish, based on book length. I have to turn off the "time to finish book" indicator on my Kindle. :)

I feel the same way about this. I usually am eager to track my progress by percentage of completion on my Kindle, but I am just happy getting lost in this mammoth of a story - not even tracking my percentage.

Plodding along. About chapter a day and need to pick up pace a bit.
