Not sure if I'll make it Laura as I still have 18 to go. I'm currently aiming for 45 as a more realistic goal! Maybe you could revise your goal too?

That sounds like a good number :) I may make it as I need to read some art books and graphic novels so it can easily bump up the book count...but even if i don't make it i will be okay w/whatever.
33. Perfect by Rachel Joyce 4★A book about relationships, time, mental illness and dysfunctional families. Not as good as The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry but very readable.

34. The Last Will and Testament of Henry Hoffman by John Tesarsch 3★A bit disappointed in this one. Felt it was a bit flat and predictable.

Going great Carolyn. You have inspired me to try this next year but more like 20 books I know I would be overwhelmed with 50.
Thanks Suzanne! I will read over 40 so I'm happy with that. The bookshelf is not getting any emptier though because I keep adding more! Lol!!
40. Trigger Warning: Short Fictions and Disturbances by Neil Gaiman 4★An interesting mix of stories and poems. A bit uneven but the best are very good.

Atta girl...chuck in a couple of short stories too! :D
That's the trouble I've read all the short ones and mainly have the doorstops left! I have sneaked a few into Summer challenges so might get to them next month ;)
Good job Carolyn! Do you have any particular way of choosing, or do you just grab whatever takes you fancy? Almost there. I wonder if I should take a leaf out of your book for next year?!
I was just grabbing whatever I feel like reading next as it's nice to have an unstructured approach to some reading but lately I've tried to work a few into challenges just to get through them. I'm going to take a few on holiday with me next week to read on the beach at Waikiki :)It's been good too to read some older books sitting on the shelves and not just newer ones I've bought recently. Do you have that problem as well - having a lot of unread books that you never get too?
^_^ Ahem....to read on the beach in Waikiki!! Life's a beach isn't it?..but a Girl's gotta do etc...Fantastic way for you to get your tbr down Carolyn...enjoy!! ;D
45. The Twelve Clues of Christmas by Rhys Bowen 4★A very Christmassy cosy mystery set in the 1930s English countryside.

46. The Monkey's Raincoat by Robert Crais 4★An entertaining start to a new crime series by a talented scriptwriter.

47. I Shall Wear Midnight by Terry Pratchett 4★An excellent Tiffany Aching story as we see the adolescent witch become confident and grow into her powers as she battles a dark and evil being.

48. Alex by Pierre Lemaitre 5★Brilliant suspense thriller which keeps you guessing not who but why?

Just one more book and one more week to go!
I've just started The Handsome Man's Deluxe Café by Alexander McCall Smith as it's nice and slim and should be an easy, undemanding read!
And finally (just in the nick!):50. The Handsome Man's Deluxe Café by Alexander McCall Smith 5★
Always a delight to read a book in this series!
