ABANDONED. Meta/Experimental fiction: Characters are random objects not people

I remember the book possibly having a red cover, maybe a triangle with legs.

Story included objects taking each other's parts and breaking each other down. One character gaining a lot of power.

Also included smaller objects/characters walking on a line, literally, and only being able to go in one direction. Possibly metafiction?? Short book, very weird!
