Hi all!

I'm looking for a book I started a couple of months ago (probably in January before the current craziness started) and I unfortunately lost. I only had an excerpt ebook version so I can't even recall if what I read was the beginning or maybe further into the plot. I think it was the first chapter though.
The heroine I believe was captured in the desert and was to be auctioned off soon. The hero saves her, possibly by buying her (?) which causes some friction between the two as they know and dislike each other. He feels obligated to protect her. I am quite sure it was not a sheikh romance! The hero was most likely from England, or much less likely from America.
Unfortunately that's all I can still piece together. Would be really relieved to find it again though so any help is greatly appreciated!
