MJ | 1617 comments Ok, dot points.

- she is a freelance journalist who's 'trade mark' is writing a series of stories from taxi cab perspective
- when she hits her new island, Martha's vineyard (I think), she realizes the taxi angles not going to work so when the cab driver suggest she try's weddings because there are tonnes of mega weddings each day, she loves it.
- her love interest (and I've no memory of how they hooked up), is a bit of a rich playboy.
- after they shag each other silly, he promises that he's not just in it for the sex, so he will remain hands off until she initiates... which he fails at... And they end up getting caught on a path way to the beach - by his friends - just after he's jumped her and had his naughty way with her.
- he's all in for a permanent relationship from the start (yes I am noticing a them in my books here) while she is a liitle more reserved.
- in one of her wedding stories, she walks into the reception to see him on stage kissing one of the bridesmaids. She freaks and splits - think she hides in a ladies rental unit above the garage but little does she know, the ladies is friends with the main man and has a regular 'group', invitation only, dinner which they are of course both invited to... add the awkward moments here.
- oh, and there's some awkward things about her mum who the guy flies in (because what else would he do ). Now they are adults, she assures her she always loved them, just didn't know what to do with little kids.

Read it the last few years, probably on iBooks
Think it may be the first book in a series

MJ--no idea, but it's going onto the ol' Iftcan's Mountain Range of TBR's when it's found.

And more info
- pretty sure it's the first in a series
- I remembered something else... But now it's gone... Tbc

Tab (tabbrown) | 5084 comments How many years ago did you read this?
Was it a self-published series? Was it printed in paperback form?

message 8: by MJ (new) - rated it 2 stars

MJ | 1617 comments Read in the last two or three years I'd say. 99.99% sure it was electronic, I don't read much hard copy any more.

Could have been self published. I have developed a bad habit of reading the free or very cheap books. There are a few author's how I am committed to that cost 'way too much', in my new miserly thoughts. It iirritates me that there is not a bigger discount on on electronic books, and there truly are some great books for less.

Tab (tabbrown) | 5084 comments Find Her, Keep Her: A Martha's Vineyard Love Story fits.

I skimmed the first few pages on Goodreads. The beginning mentions the main character writes a series called "“Stumble Through In a Taxi." And, it mentions her planning to travel to Martha's Vineyard.

Good find, Tab!

MJ | 1617 comments Omg, you're a legend! Only last night did I pass over that book in my shelves because I had a different story line in my head for it. Think I should take a moment and accept that I have far too many books now to remember every plot to it's cover.

Wish iBooks gave you a way to make a note about the book like goodreads do. Goodreads wouldn't of helped me in this case... cause I haven't marked as read 

Thank you for a great find! Don't know how you did it. I'm always amazed by how few I can solve on here con siding what a book junky I am.

Tab, thanks for sharing that search tip. I've never tried using "ebook" in a Google search. Good idea. :)

That's too bad.

Sometimes the memory of a book is better than the re-reading of it. Although I find this happens more with childhood books, because personal tastes and views evolve so much. Ah well, at least you get a sense of closure.

MJ | 1617 comments Yeah, there are a few books that I JUST LOVED, and ranted to everyone I saw... and now, it is just 'a bit odd' that I liked them. Not that they are bad, but SO not what I would read now even if suggested.
