I absolutely love The Women of the Otherworld series by Kelley Armstrong.

Every few years I read books 1 & 2 in Amanda bouchets the kingmaker chronicles.
&
Cat & Griffin's story was kind of epic - saying that, I DON'T read the third in the series, because it failed to live up to the storytelling of the first two books, and it was completely discourteous to Cat's character. Suddenly stripping her of all feistiness and kick ass abilities.
Instead I prefer to let my imagination wrap up their trilogy.

To be honest, I pretend that neither the 2nd nor the 3rd books even exist after reading them once. The 1st one was perfect though.
Just double checking that all the fans of Ilona Andrews are visiting their website every Friday for the next chapter instalment of the latest Innkeeper book.Yes, it is totally free.

Anyone else worried that Bouchet is publishing a fourth book in the Kingmaker Chronicles series later this year? She went so far off the rails in book 3, but from the look of things - Curse of Queens
will feature a couple of new leads, stepping up from secondary roles in the first part of the series.
Fingers crossed this author can bring the magic back. (And we can put the travesty of book 3 behind us)
Just recalled another series I revisit every other year - The Immortal Empire series, by Kate LockeVamps, werewolves & goblins set in a steampunk London - action, romance and a mystery or two to solve.
Start with book one - God Save the Queen
Dragon Bound I didn't see anyone posting Thea Harrison's stuff. I can't count the number of times I've read this book!
I also like her spin off series; Moonshadow

Kira 4 was excellent - now the wait is on for 5.

I like the Liaden Universe series. Spaceships, magical abilities, soul mates, alien turtles where a polite conversational pause is 20 minutes. There is a huge timeline. There is the main family, then books featuring the founding of the family 1,000 years ago, etc.
Start with the book Agent of Change.
The Arc of A Scythe Trilogy, The Charley Davidson Series, The Shatter me series, The Narnia Series and The Spiderwick Cronicles
I once got into a loop re-reading Richelle Mead's Vampire Academy series (does this one counts as Paranormal Romance?), somehow, I couldn't get enough of Dimitri and Rose's romance...

His book Lord of Light was one of the seminal novels that altered science fiction.
Eileen Wilks - World of the Lupi.Lily and Rule - what a great series, probably more urban than pnr, loads of a action, high stakes, and a really layered werewolf culture that is fascinating.
Start with book 1 Tempting Danger

Love love this series, am happy to re-read but need a new fix occasionally.
rereading the Kate Daniels series by illona Andrews. love this series! also the Legion of Angels by Ella Summers.

I am the same! I feel so guilty re-reading a book when my TBR is so huge!! I feel like I would spend my life just comfort reading something I know I am already going to like. I have to limit myself to a couple a year.
I have the same problem! I am spoiled by the writing/authors of a few books and compare everything to them (Kresley Cole, Karen Marie Moning, Donna Grant and Sylvain Reynard) I try to read another series, which I really want to, but the rereads of these series are amazing
It is young adult but I really love the trilogy with the magic school that tries to kill the students. It's funny and the romance is great.
Nailini Singh just announced the next Archangel instalment and it's going to be all about Elena and Raphael - YES!!!!.Archangel's Lineage
Release date Apr 23 2024
Time for a re-read?

Plenty of time for a re-read - but will just stick to the books that feature Elena and Raphael as the MC's.
Woo-hoo!!!!
Halfway to the GraveI have re-read this in audio and paperback more than a couple times. It's so tropey and silly, full of Vampire Days of Lives level drama but I don't care. I love her writing and characters!
The Dowser Series by Meghan Ciana Doidge and all the spin-offs that tie-in.The Mayfair Witches by Anne Rice
The Leveling Up series by KF Breene
And I love Jeaniene Frost and Molly Harper

Thank you so much for this find.
Goblins, Vampires and Steampunk Victoria? I'm there with bells on. Loved this series by Kate Locke. It's a trilogy and doesn't drag, action packed with a steamy romance in the offing thanks to the Alpha werewolf - yes, werewolves too.
Have to start with book 1 - God save the queen
Jennifer wrote: "Yes to Ilana Andrews. Almost everything they've written.Charlaine Harris' Southern Vampire series.
I'd also add the Midnight's Daughter series by Karen Chance. So much fun.
Also W. R. Gingell's Between series. (It's got romance in it, if it's not exclusively romance.)
And the Demon Accords series by John Conroe..."
I've been following this for a couple of years and had read Demon Accords book 1 and didn't think it would become a favorite but I have reread it, all books at least once and a few a couple of more times. I hope he finishes it out.
I have so many rereads in PRN, FR, SFR, which seems to be what people are posting. Many are already listed, New Species, Kate Daniel, Mercy Thompson and Alpha & Omega, Psy-changelings, Immortals After Dark, Nighthuntress and spin offs, Dark in You, Hidden Legacy, Innkeeper Chronicles, The Immortal Empire, BDB though only some of the first, Elder Races, The Others (Bishop), Pride (Laurenston), Demon Accords,
Some that were not listed (I think) that I have reread
Immortal Guardians and spin offs by Dianne Duvall (love this series, grew on me)
Demonica by Larissa Ione
In Death (Eve Dallas) (love this series, grew on me)
Men of the North by Elin Peer (First book ticked me off but continued and now reread it)
Demi-gods of San Fransisco
Imp series by Debra Dunbar
Dragonriders of Pern (Pern Chronicles) Though only reread certain ones.
Highlander series (only the last 4 books) of Karen Marie Moning
Cyborg Seduction by Laurann Dohner (not the first though, disliked it)
Dragon Blood by Lindsay Buroker
Tornians & Kalizians (don't know why but it pulls me back, easy fluff)
Very Little romance
Soulwood by Faith Hunter (though not Yellowrock, just does pull me)
Iron Druid
No Romance Scifi
Murderbot, Listed just because it is a fantasy that I reread a bunch.
So some are multiple and I have some more that are HR that I didn't list. But the beginning asked for 3... That is hard but...
if my favorite that I would want on an island and only could reread-
1. Ilona Andrews (don't make me pick a series, maybe Hidden Legacy first 3 or Kate)
2. Patricia Briggs- Mercy Thompson/Alpha & Omega world
3. Kresley Cole -Immortals After Dark (I would want the If You HR of hers)
they are also probably the most reread for me.
Seriously, why does the year seem to fly past these days - yet, if I'm waiting for one of my fave authors to release a new book, that aspect of my life seems to slow to a snail crawl?Asking for a friend...... Hah.
. This book gave me a lot of ideas that I've successfully put to practical use, in real life. I've read it now maybe a total of four times. The beginning of the year was my first time reading this book.
something about this time of year (xmas/new year) that often has me reaching for a tried and true favourite to get through the season.this year's winner is the Vexatious Valkyrie series by Jane Cousins.
Diving into book one - What's up Buttercup?
then book 2 - A Demon is forever
bickering couples and hot romances - perfect
Happy New Year to all! It's been a long time since I posted in GR forums, but this thread popped up in the notifications and here are my five cents of worth:
Every year without fail, I'm re-reading at least a few books from
Kresley Cole's Immortals After Dark series. Yes, all of IAD series are paranormal romance for adults. Utterly delicious, they are my go-to comfort food for a good dose of passionate romance with spice. There are currently 20 installments including 3 novellas and her next book is expected to be published sometime in 2025.
DemetraP wrote: "Alexa, Lothaire is my favorite book in the Immortals after Dark series."it's one of my favorites too! I was kicking myself when it had first come out and I didn't get it as a hardcover, I'm so regretting it now. I got it first as an e-book because I wanted to read it as fast as possible, then managed to find it in paperback. I love this series!
The Kushiel's Legacy series from Jacqueline Carey. It's 2 separate trilogies which I usually re-read every 2-3 years. She has other books set in the same world, which I've also re-read a few times.
Oh wow I might have to keep it to my top 5 series that I read over and over. Laura k. Hamilton, Anita Blake seriesAnita Blake, Vampire Hunter: Guilty Pleasures #3,. J. R. Ward Black dagger brotherhood
., Jackie Ivie Vampire Assasins
., Christine Feehan Dark series
., and then last bit definetly not least Sherrilyn Kenyon Dark Hunters
Author KM Shea has quite a few urban fantasy trilogies that are very funny. There is romance but no steam, closed door love scenes.
I come back to the Fever series by Karen Marie Moning every 3-5 years. This re-read I made note of why I so enjoy the Barrons character and became annoyed with Mac's ongoing internal drama. But it's fun, and I like the connections KMM builds throughout the series and the Fae lore she's built. It's a guilty pleasure for sure.Darkfever
Not even a series yet - but I feel I can safely add the - The Breach Wars - by Ilona Andrews to this thread.Book 1 is out - The Inheritance. And book 2 is being drafted.
For anyone addicted to Jane Cousins Southern Sanctuary Series - GREAT NEWS. Book 15 is due out 7th November and is available now for pre-order.To Crave A Curse - blurb is awesome and knowing JC will bring the laughs, the heat, and an awesome HEA.
If you haven't discovered Jane Cousins yet, and need some feels, laughs and sizzle in your life. Then I recommend you start with book 1 - To Woo A Warrior - our hero has to invent some fun dating rules to woo his she-warrior.
Wow! Looks like I've found the right place! It's been a while, but I enjoyed the Fever series by Karen Marie Moning, Inheritance was great, but I'm impatient for the second book. "She threatened him and he liked it." Yeah, I'll buy that, thank you! I can't wait for This Kingdom Will Not Kill Me. I love the grit and already have opinions on the possible romantic interests. I read K.M. Shea, too, but I'm unfamiliar with Jane Cousins. I'll have to look her up.Has anyone read The Portlock Paranormal Detective series by Heather G. Harris and Jilleen Dolbeare? I've really enjoyed them. The mystery is kept central, but the romance is sweet. It follows a vampire who calls herself Bunny and has a million tall tales about why. Recently, I've also been reading Brogan Thomas, Vanessa Nelson, and K.N. Banet. I love finding a new favorite!
