Alias Reader (aliasreader) | 29397 comments Thank you, deb. I really should be using this NYC Pause to read a book for the challenge. Once I clear out the few I have on deck, I think I will do that.

Petra | 1353 comments That's a big help. I now find myself contemplating trying this project with Canadian Prime Ministers. I don't know when I'd find the time for such a long project but it might be fun (once the libraries open again).

madrano | 23685 comments Petra, i had to look up the Prime Ministers to see how many Canada has had. Were i reading their bios instead of Presidents, i'd be almost finished! I recognize some of the earlier names, from Universities and such. I should have mentioned that i've been slowly working on my list for decades now, so there really is no rush.

Alias, you remind me that, for the most part, i've read library bios. The return dates have helped motivate me. The Garfield i read last month was one i own but because we live in a hotel, it just sat on the table screaming at me to read it. Almost as soon as i finished, i ran it back to our storage unit. Sadly, i don't own a Chester Arthur bio.

It's a life long challenge. I think it's a fun way to learn history. Having a timeline of the presidents helps.

madrano | 23685 comments I agree, Alias. It's also been fascinating for me to realize that so many problems which i thought had only recently come to light have, in fact, been around for decades. And often with no resolution, which is why we are trying to handle them now.

And political graft!!

This is the most beautiful book I've read lately. Magic realism at its best. I highly recommended it!
