Welcome to The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes Buddy Read Discussion thread! This thread officially opens on May 20th and anyone can join at any time. Please keep in mind that spoilers are allowed in this thread but only up to the group's current reading place. Do not spoil the book if you've read further than the group. Any extra days can be used to catch up!

Each week we will be reading by chapters. The suggested Buddy Read discussion schedule is as follows:

May 20: Part I: The Mentor Chapters 1-3

May 22: Chapters 7-9
May 23: Chapter 10 + Part Two: The Prize Chapters 11-12

I started the book today and read the first three chapters. So far I'm interested!

Chapter 3: (view spoiler)[ Young Snow is an interesting character. It makes me wonder what events happened that turned him into a villain. Also, I found it funny how he made poor decisions. Like wanting to travel with the tributes and as a result ending up in on display at the Capitol zoo!
It's weird seeing how these tributes are treated when around Katniss's time, they traveled and lived in MUCH nicer conditions. (hide spoiler)]

I just finished chapter 10 and I'm enjoying it so far!

Just finished it! And wow, this book kept me at the edge of my seat for the most part! I know some people didn't enjoy it because of the pacing and Snow as the main character, but I honestly found him to be an interesting and complex character. This book didn't change my opinion of him, but I liked seeing his progression into the person he was in the Hunger Games series.

I hope you guys ending up enjoying it when you read it :)
