my friend has been begging me to read this book lately, she absolutely loves it. sadly the only place i can borrow it from is an app called libby, but there is a really long wait on it :(
I already started yesterday with the audiobook and at first I wasn't sure about the narrator's voice but now I can't stop listening! I'm already on chapter 10! :)
I have to say, I know this was written years ago and therefore it doesn't have that big of a feminist touch in it, but I really don't like Aspen. I like America though. I've always liked her.
i didn't like aspen either. but i won't lie, america annoyed me while reading the book , (view spoiler)

I liked America way more than Eadlyn. Also, please use a spoiler cover up since this might be the first time for some people!

Haha you probably didn't since this is a reread for a lot of people, but I just wanted to make sure
i just started this book. i’m honestly not sure i’m gonna like it since it has a love triangle in it, but my friend loves it so i’m gonna give it a shot anyway.
I hate how often they mention the word "ladylike" and how that woman Silvia and Celeste act (even though I think Celeste is a good enough character). I just finished the book and I think there were some moments were I did find America annoying, but overall I like her. Maxon is my favorite, there's like, nothing wrong with him at all haha. And I really like Marlee and how her side of the story unfolds. I don't hate Aspen either but he annoys me a little. I think I'll keep going with the second book :)

America, for one. Her impulsiveness and indecisiveness annoys me. Aspen really annoyed me. Like, you need to let her go already! Anne kind of annoys me, and Kriss annoys me. She is such a doormat

Hahaha I have to agree with you on some of that. Aspen felt, for me, like that typical macho that wanted to be the men who made all the decisions and then regrets every single one of them instantly. He's so annoying. America also annoyed me when she was so self centered, or when she got mad at Maxon for no reason. Kriss was pretty unsubstantial to me as well lol.

I totally agree, especially about Kriss.

I LOVE this book so much! My favorite part is when America knees him in the you-know-what for trying to kiss her haha
Hahaha I finished it yesterday and then read the Prince novella from Maxon's POV and it was hilarious. Now I think I'm starting The Elite :)

Oh yes when I read that from Maxon's point of view I burst out laughing

Maxon is just so gentle and he's willing to give America time to figure out what she wants- America on the other hand, if she saw him heavily contemplating her and another girl she would blow
I’m absolutely loving this book so far! I’ve yet to meet Maxon’s character but from what yall are saying he sounds lovely !
I’m still peeved at Aspen though!!
About to launch into Chapter 9 :D
Ha so I’ve just read America’s and Maxon’s first encounter of each other. That was so not how I was expecting it to go ... 😂
Ahh I’m falling in love with this book. And I think I might have to fight a few ladies for Maxon...Half way through now, I love the set up they have going on with each other.
He's pretty charming isn't he? And the story is very entertaining, I'm glad you're liking it Nicola :)
Succumbing to Maxon’s charms definitely. Slightly melted at a few of the things he’s said and done, like major aww moments 😂
Oh I know! He's so charming and sweet and just, good. Which is something the rulers of that country need.
i won't lie the only reason this book is a four star book and not a five star is bc i found america really annoying, and the same goes with aspen
Sameeee. Aspen is so annoying I just want him to go away. America is annoying at times, but others I like her haha.
I do too! in The One I start to love her. And still, she was a pretty good character since the beginning.
