Any other topics you’d like to discuss? Your overall opinion of the story? The series? Are you ready for Lucy Kincaid?

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2973 comments I liked it the best of the trilogy. Seth Rogan was quite a surprise and he and Lucy should make an awesome couple.

Robin (robinmy) | 2450 comments Seth is in the Lucy Kincaid books? Great! He's a character I really liked.

This book wasn't my favorite. I liked book two better. I thought the mystery and suspense were top-notch in this book. And, I really liked Duke. But I didn't warm up to Nora. I felt like she was married to her job and didn't have a lot of time for Duke. She was very intense. I also didn't care for Quin. She came off as a brat when she was arguing with Nora.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2973 comments I agree, I loved Duke and wasn't thrilled by either Nora or Quin.

I think you both mean Sean😏

I loved the story as the procedural angle was very well done. Nora was hard for me to warm to as well and I wish Brennan had found a way to make her more human in her relationship with Duke. In the end, it was heartbreaking to watch her be devastated by Quin. She didn’t deserve that. Nora had sacrificed her entire adult life for her sister and Quin didn’t seem at all grateful for that.

This was my favorite of the trilogy.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2973 comments Yeah, Sean. Ooops! I agree that Nora didn't deserve what Quin said to her. She had devoted her life to making sure Quin had a good life. I hope they can rebuild their relationship.

I think they will. Quin had to lay there thinking she was going to die having her last words to Nora be so ugly. That changes you. But, she definitely needs therapy.

For Nora, she almost lost the sister she loves dearly because she treated her like a child. Redefining the relationship will be hard but I think she’s up to it.

Melissa (melissasd) | 676 comments I felt like this one had the most believable romance. I liked that part of it. I agree with everyone's thoughts on Nora and Quin. They have a lot of work to do to repair their relationship. I am so excited the start the Lucy Kincaid series!

I have one question: Maggie mentioned that she killed Payne because of what he did to her father. I know that Nora's colleagues found a connection, but was it ever stated what happened? Did I miss it?

I believe he got him fired.

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 1203 comments I'm going to need a Cliff notes review of where we started and the progression of what we've now read to get into the Lucy stories.

Wasn't there a book we read couple of years ago that had a main character named Maggie O'Dell? [real estate agent?]

I liked Duke and Sean, not the oldest brother so much.

Maggie O’Dell is the series we read years ago by Alex Kava! Nice catch, Charlene.

Karen ♐ (kmk1214) | 909 comments I really loved Duke and Sean. I am so glad Sean is in Lucy's series. At first, I thought Nora was a bit cold but then reading the background story, understood why she was. I think Duke was really good for her.
