I will just advise you that the full version is very close to being too long for this section. Quotes are not meant to be extracts or the entirety of a very long poem. :)
Also we prefer to edit rather than delete. If you make a mistake, please come to this folder & a librarian will help you.
Please allow at least half an hour for this quote to disappear from everywhere as this site is heavily cached.

As it was considered relevant to the circumstances, it was left as X author quoting earlier Y author. For instance if Stephen King in his book on writing, quotes an earlier injunction that a gun in scene 1 must be fired by scene 3.
Maybe use your judgement as to relevance.

819 Deleted the second one, (no likes) but the third one is from a different book.
820 I ended up attempting to do all of the author's fragments. The deletes may not have worked, but the quotes I just had to edit has - I'll check later.In future could requests like this be given their own thread please. :)
Edit: The deletes have still not gone through, but a combine has.
I'll give it till tomorrow morning my time, then add it to the list of problems in the "Amazon DESTROYED the author's database." thread.

I am going away for a few days, if another librarian has time to look at the quotes from #822-834. It would be good to know if a long cache with deletes is now expected behaviour or if I was just unlucky
#822 Just four examples now. I have found out that when you merge sometimes you lose the likes. The very experienced Super who told me this also told me that this bug predates Amazon's purchase of Goodreads - so at least 10 years! So I am now reluctant to combine quotes.#823 Have just left the first 3 lines of the first poem, so done.
#824 A bug I have never bothered reporting is that the book title sometimes disappears in edit mode. This is the case here - & since the author is Various it would take a long time to find the book title in the dropdown menu. Leaving for someone else.
#825 1 Just left the first two verses.
2 This was added by the author which gave me a bit of a quandary. I removed his name & title of the poem & copyright info & just left the first few lines. If he posts wanting the whole poem up I'll have to get advice from the moderator or a librarian who does a lot of quotes.

#826 There was a typo in the author's name. I deleted the ones requested as they were very close to being an extract rather than a quote & had no likes. Two others (not requested) had one like each so I corrected the author's name.#827 No likes so I combined

#830 I removed the title & just left the first verse of one version. Done.
#831 Done (only 1 version had a like.)
#832 There is a Vidhya Vijay who might qualify as notable, but I found five quotes attributed to this name. They all had grammatical/spelling errors, so I thought it highly unlikely that the Vidhya Vijay I found had written them so I deleted all of them.
Please note that deletes have been a bit sticky on GR recently & allow 24 hours for them to go through.
Please don't add any more requests to this thread. I want to request it be closed as it is over three years old.

#833 The longer version of this quote has 672 likes so only a staff member or a Superlibrarian can edit this. & as I have discovered I lose some of the likes when I combine.You can try making a separate post for this - staff or a super may decide to combine the shorter versions where hopefully only one like is lost.
Please don't delete this post! as the numbering will then be off. Instead just replace the content with "now giving this it's own thread" or something like that.
