I was very curious about this topic. I know some people who say yes to turning The Infernal Devices books into movies and some don't want that to happen. What do you guys think? What's your opinion on this?

I do NOT want it to be turned into a movie but if it were to be turned into a visual adaptation, it should become a TV show like Game of Thrones. Plus I heard Hollywood is turning TMI into a TV series so it would make sense since there is a crossover in the book. It shouldn't be a movie though.
I would wait to see how the other movies pan out (If they ever continue the trilogy on the big screen) first. I would love to see it made into a movie but I don't want it to bomb like mortal instruments seemed to have done. anyways maybe some books just aren't meant to be adapted into movies. ( some books just don't adapt well)
I don't know how to feel about this. I'm both terrified and excited at the same time, because as much as I wanted to see my beloved characters on a big screen, Infernal Devices is my favorite among all the shadowhunters series. I saw in Cassie's blog that the movie rights is owned by the same production company which produced both the movie and the tv series of The Mortal Instruments. After watching the movie and the tv series, I'm scared that the movie will be terrible.
yessss yessss yesss but i dont want them to spoil it by making it too ugh i didnt like the mortal insturmentsmovie it was too fake
YES, YES THEY MUST.. BUT IF THEY DO THEY BETTER CAST THE CHARACTERS CORRECTLY. ESPECIALLY WILL AND TESSA. I WANT THIS ADAPTATION SO FUCKING BADLY.
I want a TID movie, but I doubt they'd be able to find the right cast for it. I also fear it would turn out as big a flop as The Mortal Instruments movie...
I think they should though they'll probably stuff up the casts, especially Jem
Personally I wouldn't mind it as part of a one off series rather than a movie, like a lot have already said though it depends on the actors they find for the role of the main characters, it's only my opinion but Jace, Izzy & Alec was all wrong in TMI movie & the script got messed up a little ... I'd hate that to happen with TID as these are my 2nd favourite series of all time! If the story line was changed at all I'd rather the story be left in pages & our imaginations than transformed into the big screen!
I want The Infernal Devices to be a movie, but, they would have to cast Will, Jem, Tessa, Charlotte, Henry, Sophie and Jessamine correctly, and I fear that they would not cast the correct actors to portray these characters.
It'll be a great disappointment for everyone if they create the movie. We know how the movie works and it's not great. Plus, it'll be a great disappointment if they don't find the right actor for Will Herondale. Books are always better so... let's just stay that way. :)
No, I don't want them to. I think this is one of the books that are better of without a movie. I would say that they are perfect the way they are, without someone finding actors to play them and locations, etc. It would kind of ruined this series (for me at least) If they do decide to make this into a movie, I don't think I would go and watch, but just ignore it.
I would just keep comparing it to the book all the way through, and who would they get to play Will? I don't think such a person even exists in the world. City of Bones was good but nothing like the book - although I think they chose the actors very well.
actually no this book was so nice the movie would just be a disappointment no need to make you remember the City of Bones fiasco hope i didnt spell anything wrong

No. I don't think they should. Seeing as they already took TMI from us they cant get TID's to. It just wouldn't be right. And besides they wouldn't even let us pick the cast on who should play who. And then mess it all up like they did with the first TMI movie. Even though there turning the rest of them into a tv show. But i dont understand how that's going to be any better if they don't get a new cast than the one they had for the movie. Yes they were good in the movie. But Isbelle didn't look like how you'd pictered her to be. Same thing goes for Alec, and even Jace. Yes we all love Jace from the books but the guy they got to play him in my opione didn't cut it. In a way now that I'm thinking about it, he reminded me of a male version of the chick that played Bella in the twilight movies. Only he showed more expersion than she did. But that was only at some parts. And further more.. I highly doubt they'd be able to find the perfect guy to play Jem. So no i dont think they should make it

Please no! Movies based from books always seem to twist the plot, making it into a hollywood refined one. The most important quotes or scenes are plucked out, ones that really helped create the book. I personally adore the Infernal Devices, and if they were to make a movie of it, I feel it would be a waste. I obviously wouldn't go see it; it would just ruin the perfect image of the book in my head. Don't even get me started on the casting situation...
TID is awesome and I love it but I think that a movie would ruin the idea of how I think of it.
I don't want all books to be turned into movie adaptations. Where are all the movie writers? What happened to them?

I think it would just be too hard to find the right actor for will and if they don't go with the actual story line its going to ruin it. I mean city of bones movie was great it just wasn't that great compared to the book. If they're willing to follow everything in tid then im all for it.
