Charlie Holt | 3 comments The Resurrected Life: Making All Things New

Jesus calls each one of us to pick up our cross and follow Him. Picking up our cross involves dying daily to the flesh and to the old self. Yet, the death of our old self is not the final goal. It is the pathway to a new and abundant life in Christ! Death of one’s self precedes resurrection to a new, vibrant life in God.

In the very last chapter of the Bible, in the book of Revelation, we read about God’s vision for the future of His people and for the whole creation, spoken by the Lord Jesus Christ:

“And He who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” (Revelation 21:5, ESV)

God’s plan in Jesus is to make all things new. This is not just a vision of what will happen on the last day—it is also a vision of what the Lord has already begun to do. Notice the present tense of Jesus’ words: “I am making all things new.” This “making all things new” began with the resurrection of Jesus Christ. On the day Jesus conquered death and arose from the grave, a new creation broke forth. Just as we read in the first chapter of Genesis when God said, “Let there be light,” so on the Lord’s Day, a new light burst forth from the tomb in resurrection power and glory. Jesus Christ is alive!

Beloved of God, God is giving you a new start and a new life in Jesus Christ. He is making all things new—including you!

As we begin this journey into the resurrected life, take note that today, Jesus is doing a new thing in your life. He is saying to you personally, “Behold, I am making all things new” for you. Are you ready for that new life? Let’s begin the adventure together.

Mickey Mullen (mrmullenvcncom) | 632 comments Charlie where is a persons sin located according to the K J B of 1611? If you say in the heart, than does it sound reasonable that God can remove the heart your mother gave you, and give you another one from God? It is really the Spirit in Genesis 1:2 that does the work. The preachers say God can do anything, but what I just told you. But I have a verse. Ezekiel 36: 26 and 27 So you need a new heart the beginning of making things new. Elijah of Malachi 4:5

Mickey Mullen believes that he is the Elijah who was to come.

Jesus said that John the Baptist was the Elijah who was to come. Enough said.

Also, Miceky believes that God literally and physically removed his old heart and gave him a new one.

However, Mickey dose not believe that his old heart was literally and physically made of stone (as the Scripture he references says it was).

Charlie Holt | 3 comments Good question, you sound a bit like Nicodemus in John 3. :>) Jesus telling him of his need to be "born again".

John 3:3-6 "Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit."

Jesus and the Scriptures use physical language to describe spiritual realities. The term heart is not used by the scriptures in a merely materialistic way but as a way of contemplating our complex feelings, desires, will, character (our spirit/will/soul). The bible locates that "physically" in our heart but it also locates that in the head and the bowels.

We are truly complex creatures. The interrelationship between the material and the spiritual is not so easily separated in our language. We begin to reach the limits of our human understanding of things.

Is that helpful?

Good post. Such a reminder is needed at times like this.

Also, great response to Mickey's question.

Mickey Mullen (mrmullenvcncom) | 632 comments Tyrone you agree like everybody else. "Jesus uses physical language to describe spiritual realities." Paul was the Devils advocate, and the other writers including his half brother James and Peter, never understood the Gospel. Does it make any common sense that God would be different when He designed redemption, when everything else God created is literal, physical, matter or energy. etc, (Flesh is Flesh) If your not aborted you start out as a Baby. (Born of the Spirit is Spirit) like in Ezekiel. "A new heart also (chosen and drawn) will I give you, and i will take away the stony (sinful) heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh. (not at this time a spirit, that comes later)

The Devils children definitely hang (by rope) physically together. St John 9:44 At the end of days. I'm Elijah of Malachi 4:5

Tyrone Wilson | 47 comments Mickey,

I don't know on what basis you believe Paul was not called to be an apostle or that he is the devil's advocate. I've seen posts of yours that make that claim again and again, and it makes no more sense now than it did before. Nor do I understand your claim to be Elijah, nor have I seen any "works" of yours that substantiate that claim.

What I do believe is what the Bible teaches, and what it teaches is contrary to your claims.

By the way, everything God created is not physical. The angels are spiritual beings. Also, your repeated misuse and misapplication of Ezekiel's writing is self-serving. It was directed to the Jews in Babylonian captivity who softly relied on the Law and its ritual practices (carved on stone) to save them instead of serving the Lord with a full heart. God's promise was to write His laws in their hearts so they can live by them rather than their relying on stone tablets. Yes, it is a lesson to all about serving the Lord with a full heart, but it is not a literal transformation of the physical heart. It is a spiritual application.

Mickey Mullen (mrmullenvcncom) | 632 comments Tyrone, "I (Jesus) am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me (Jesus) not, If another shall (no doubt) come in his (Paul) own name Him (Paul) ye will receive." (believe) St John 5:43 "I (Lucifer) will (no doubt) ascend above the heights of the clouds; (churches) I (Lucifer) will be like the most High. (God) He needed an advocate like Jesus was to God, and Lucifer chose Paul. If you was God, and everybody was quoting from Harry Potter would that make you happy, after the horrible death His Son went through? Do you think God would tell a person to work out their own salvation? Live righteous? The whole Bible is God inspired? Just believe? Hope?
There is an established false doctrine that I have not been able to overcome people love to be lied to, that they are going to heaven according to the preachers, how can a person beat that with the truth? Don't be stupid about the angels?
Yes: it was directer to the Jews. How many ways are there to the kingdom of God? Before Jesus returns they will be redeemed the same way I was at a cut rate gas station perhaps, do you think God needs a church? With the new heart, the same time the commandments are written on my heart also) "I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts, Jeremiah 31:33
