So I got a message about members in the readathon groups not being active so should I send out a message as a reminder or should we just leave it?
Eh just leave it we can’t force anyone or make sure anyone will do it, it’s the internet 🤷♀️

Hey! Sorry I haven't been on as much recently. I was thinking maybe for an August challenge we could do an individual challenge, maybe lasting a week or so just for fun. We were given the idea of an age challenge a while back - (https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...) as well as a name challenge (a little farther down on the same thread) which would both be fun! If you guys have any other fun ideas for a shorter challenge for this month (since August has already started) i'm open to anything 😂

I really like the age challenge idea, I feel like it would be easier to do for most people

What do you guys think for time lengths and all? We could do like a week or until the end of August, or we could make these open-ended challenges where members could join and participate when they want. I've also seen other groups do it where members can join any time, and record their start and end date. (so if the time length was two weeks, the person would record the date two weeks from the date they start on)
Also what age range do you think would be good for the age challenge?

Oh yeah also I'm going to be off gr for the last week of August, so I'm gonna go ahead and put out a spot to suggest themes for BOTM so that we can get the choices from the challenge week winners

Yes! I'm about to make a folder for ongoing challenges and put those in there. I'm trying to decide whether to start with only one of the two and add the other in a few weeks or something, or put both in the folder and open them now for anyone who wants to participate. What do you think?

I have a question for the name challenge. Can the character be important to the story, but not the main character or a minor one? Like a character who is in the ‘squad’ with the main character?

Sure I guess? I'd say try to do the main ones first, but if you read a book that happens to have a character in an age other than the main ones go ahead and list it.
Also Sarah I announced the BOTM theme on the challenge week winners thread so that people can suggest their books.
Would one of you two mind putting the BOTM book nominations into a poll once the winners give them and opening a thread for the winning book? I'm terribly sorry putting this on one of you but I'll be off goodreads until the end of August.
If you are able to do it, you can just copy and paste the thread description for the book dicussion from one of the previous ones and change the appropriate info (book, month, theme, etc.)

I’m going to send a message to the group about the next Challenge Week schedule along with reminding the winners about suggestions for the September BOTM and I’m also going to add a reminder about the age and name challenges so we can get as many people participating!

Oh yeah so our fourth mod (cheryl_bombshell) hasn't been active for like the past few months at all with this group. I would love you all's opinions about what we should do about it. I sent her a message a few months ago asking if she could help out more, but she hasn't really done much.

I think we should remove her as a mod and find a new one, I think of a few people who might want to be mods and who could help out with the group, we could ask people if they would like to me mods and their reasoning as well if if we don’t find the right person then we could just keep us three
Ok so maybe then I will put out a new message on the want to be a mod page with some "interview" questions, and if we see someone who looks like they would be really good and beneficial to the group we can add them.
