Ann What books are you reading in this category? What recommendations do you have? Are you using a numeral like the book "1984" or something like "A Tale of Two Cities"?

Julia (_mj_howard) | 57 comments I have read "1Q84" by Haruki Murakami, and loved it although a little long, it only seemed that way because it was over repetitive.

Angie (sparkingjoyinreading) | 32 comments I read Eight Cousins by Louisa May Alcott- great book!

message 5: by Kerri (new)

Juanita (juanitav) | 744 comments I read One Plus One by Jojo Moyes. I very much enjoyed it.

One Hundred Years of Solitude is also on my list but I am planning for that to be my "book originally published in another language."

message 12: by Nikki (new)

Nikki I read Four: A Divergent Story Collection by Veronica Roth for this prompt. This was the last of the books based on the Divergent characters I had yet to read. I am kind of sad that I have finished them all now as I really enjoyed this world and these characters.

Luella I'm pretty sure I'm going with Fahrenheit 451
by Ray Bradbury.

Update: Read it. Kinda depressing to see it come true though..

Michelle Johnson (michellecurates) | 85 comments Twenty-Eight and a Half Wishes

Fun book. I think I got it for free, or very cheap, on Amazon. For free you can't fault it.

Looks like a series but I wont be reading any more of it.

message 19: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Hatfield | 5 comments I enjoyed Agatha Christie's "Five Little Pigs" for this prompt. An earlier read I really enjoyed that might count was "NOS4A2," super scary story written by Stephen King's son. The latter has a Christmas sort of setting in case you're doing two-for-one on the challenge :)

message 20: by Alexis (new)

Alexis O (saboknits) | 76 comments I finished Deep Down Dark: The Untold Stories of 33 Men Buried in a Chilean Mine, and the Miracle That Set Them Free. I wept several times while reading about the terrible ordeal these men endured and the difficulty they faced recovering from the trauma.

message 21: by Spring (last edited May 24, 2015 08:54PM) (new)

Spring Foulger | 10 comments I read Five Children and It. It was fun! A children's fantasy. It also counts for "more than 100 years old" but I didn't know that before I read it for this item.

Just added that to my list of books to read with my kids. I think they'll love it. We like Nesbit anyway and have a ton of her books.

message 23: by Melody (new)

Melody | 208 comments I read Th1rteen R3asons Why by Jay Asher as my first book in the challenge. Randomly picked it up while hanging out at a friend's house and read the whole thing in one sitting. It's not the best book I've ever read but it's very well written, gripping, and cathartic. It also counts for the Banned Book and High School Setting categories.
