Emma, our Amish Thoreau friend got a 303 pound bear yesterday!! He saw ELEVEN! One of the boys from the community also got one yesterday, and a boy who is up visiting from OH got one this morning!

Another boy got one this afternoon, that makes 4 for them in 2 days! With the exception of the 303 pound one, they have been quite small. 
I don't know if I could do it either. But we have quite a population here so hunting helps keep them in check. A few years ago the law-makers downstate (it's a whole different world down there from here in northern Maine!) tried to ban bear hunting. The people up here were furious!
