SOLVED. Children’s Book - grandparent has died and child is hoping to get a quilt. [s]

Children’s book. I probably read the books between 2005-2010, but I could have been much older.

The grandparent of a child has passed away and the family is gathering to split up the belongings in the house. The child really wants a quilt that the grandparent always used to tell stories behaving the patches. The adults dive up the belongings into as many piles as there are siblings and then draw numbers to see which pile they get. The parents of the child do NOT get the pile with the quilt. The story ends with the parents coming over with the quilt for the child after trading for it with a sibling.
