Justaguy | 4 comments Ok some time in the 90's I read a fantasy book that I just cannot recall the title or author of.

the few basic things i recall:
it was part of a series (not sure how many 2 or 3)
it told the story form different perspectives

Early in the book a girl is rescued escaping from a demon that is trying to kill her or catch her because of a crystal she has or maybe has knowledge about.
the man that rescues her ends up going on a journey with her although he is older and prefers to stay where he is.

other than that I can only remember some events that happen in the story.

it seemed like a lot of the story was set in a cold environment or it started during winter.

there is a part where the man, a dwarf, and a wizard work together to fight a dragon.

the man and the girl get seperated for a while and the story seems to follow her a lot more here
(maybe she was the main character)

At the end of the book that man uses some artifact to seal himself in with some ancient demon or god (maybe that crystal) and is trapped within to battle with it for all of eternity.
(kind of a depressing end and thats one of the main reasons I remember this story line)

other than that I remember that he and the girl fell in love but he was against it at first

i may be wrong at this point but i recall a couple things here:

his name may have been finn or flynn or flint or something like that.

I thought the girls name started with a "T" but again i could be wrong

the book was pretty well described and always gave me a pretty clear image of the landscapes

I really hope someone knows what I'm looking for but I understand if you don't and thank you for looking at this post.

Claire Berslow | 108 comments When you say that "it's a series and is told from different perspectives", do you mean each book in the series is told from different perspectives, or do you mean one book was in one perspective, and the next book was in another perspective?

Claire Berslow | 108 comments What age group (of the reader) might this book have been written for? Children, middle grades, YA, adult?

Justaguy | 4 comments i meant its told from different perspectives or narratives in one book. pretty sure it was an adult book but im only about 90% on that

A shot in the dark - Margaret Weis's Dragonslance: Chronicles series? Dragons of Autumn Twilight is the first book.

Teresa Rohn-penn | 9 comments it sounds vaguely like a David Eddings series that begins with Crystal Throne....Ruby Knight is second book I think.

Justaguy | 4 comments the main thing im focusing on while searching through these books is the ending. its the part of the series I remember the most clearly. I've always been a fan of books with tragic endings like Michael Moorcock's elric saga. so if anyone is familiar with a story where the male hero sacrifices his life to do battle with a god for all of eternity to save the woman he loves then that would probably have a higher chance of being what I'm looking for.

Justaguy | 4 comments ok so I have been through the suggestions and spoken with bob from the other post and so far none of the books ive gone through seem to be it. it does however seem to be that alot of books ive come across on this site are very similar in plotline to the book im looking for. I remember a battle for a throne later on in the series. a powerful mage or wizard. and a dwarf but the strongest point for me was the ending and the description of it.

Justaguy, please add plot and genre details to your header. Many members don't click on threads unless they know some details about the book.
