I believe this is the first book in a series and i always picture the book with an egg on the cover. The plot follows two girls, one is being primed to have kids for adults so she can use the money she'll earn from it to afford school (she also plays soccer, idk if thats important) and kids of her own, the other lives in a super religious community that believes their religion saved them from whatever is making it where others can't have kids. Contraception is banned, but the soccer player's friend has an expired condom from before they stopped making them.

I'm pretty sure the girls are twins or at least they get mixed up at some point. The religious one falls for the guy who is supposed to mate with the soccer player. The soccer player likes her friend who has the condom I think.
