For me i hate King of Scars and Wildcard

King of Scars was verrry slow for me, the only good things happened at the very end. The plot for Wildcard was everywhere, and it was one of the only books i never finished.

I agree with you on the Shining; it’s sooo long. I did like Carrie by Stephen King though!

I have to agree that sometimes King really spends wayyy too much time on things nobody cares about -_-

Shiver over and over again! I read it and it got very uh, romantically intense. That's putting it appropriately. I also thought, (once I read Twilight) that it was a knock off. So, yeah it was my least favorite book.

Please don't hate me for this, but the Twilight saga. No, it's not because I'm a potter-head, I just did not like the writing style and found it far too simple when I read it- I just didn't see any depth in those novels and I felt like there could have been a lot more added to the characters.

I definitely thought that it needed more characters and a better plot twist. I still love it though!

I've been trying to get back into horror and thrillers. I've never once read a Stephen King book. What would you recommend for a Horror newbie?

Least favorite book is not well known (thank god) Nectar by Lily Prior. I was like 15 when I read this book and did not yet get the obligatory English class on magical realism but even then I feel like this was a waste of time.
My least favourite book is One Indian Girl by Chetan Bhagat. I hate the way in which he has written the book. But the concept is good(FEMINISM!!!).
my least favorite book is The Brothers Karmazov. so dull. read it when i was 14. prob why i dislike it
okay another one... i just finished reading it and literally just did not enjoy it one bit. it’s called The Tragedy Paper and i hate disliking books but this book was all over the place, the characters didnt have a cohesive relationship which made it difficult to read, and the main premise of the book just didn’t make sense. i wanted to like it! trust me, i did! but it was so all over the place that it was hard to.

I'm not so bothered by adult content in books but I have heard from some people that King maybe puts it in places unnecessarily so thanks for the considerate recommendation! The New Neighbors sounds interesting. The only thing close to "realistic" horror I have ever read (The Grip of It by Jac Jemc) was a big let down but I think I'm gonna give this a try. for me I really hated The Beatiful and the damned , it was awuful , sexist and just stupid and i was dissapointed that it was the first book of fitzgerald that i picked , it made me hate him as an author . i know this isn't fair but i can't imagine myself reading anymore of his books .
You have to read the Great Gatsby though! The symbolism in that book was astonishing and the female characters aren’t good but in a way that’s interesting to talk about. I am obsessed with that book, not because it was a good story but because it was good writing.

I actually prefer indie books so most "popular" books I don't really care for. ie Twilight, All the light you cannot see, throne of glass series, anything written by Cassandra Clare. lol. the list goes on
oops forgot to say why! for some reason I just can't get on board with his writing style, and he never draws me in and makes me care

@Hayley,Frankenstein is a bit wordy lol. Have you read The Unraveling of Elizabeth Frankenstein? It has a different viewpoint of the whole story and a bit better in my opinion. I actually read it first before reading Frankenstein
The Birthing House by Christopher Ransom for me... It is truly terrible. A predictable plot, rubbish writing, and characters I didn't care about or like at all. In my humble opinion, steer clear!
I can’t choose a least favorite, but I tried reading Jane Eyre and I couldn’t finish it. But I think it was because I already knew the whole story.
