The rewrite?

Treason is longer, more detailed, more polished, and feels more like what I think of as an "Orson Scott Card book". There are actually things I prefer about the first book, but over all I believe the rewrite is superior.
The plot is essentially the same. If you read the first book there are enough changes and additional material to make reading the second worthwhile. I'm not sure the reverse is true (reading the original when you've already read the rewrite) except out of curiosity or if you are an Orson Scott Card completist.
Note: Card really likes to take a plot idea and keep working it. Ender's Game was a short story before it became the first novel in a series with several spin-off series. Most people know this. Less well-known is that Songmaster was also a short story first and the original story can be found in Card's collection: Maps in a Mirror: The Short Fiction of Orson Scott Card

If so, who has read both, and how different is _Treason_?
