Laura | 2514 comments I already had a short one picked out for another challenge! Wooo, it works for this one too.

I'll be reading Girl at Heart

ETA-I'll be starting this one today:-)

Laura | 2514 comments Linda, I'm not sure if you have access to this book but I know you like historical fiction. At some point, I 'm going to read this one. It looks good.
Girls on the Line by Aimie K. Runyan

message 153: by Geri (new)

Geri | 639 comments I read A LOT of series. But fortunately, I have a few stand alone. 😄

message 154: by Linda (new)

Linda | 234 comments omg Laura this sounds great!!! and exactly like my cup of tea!!! Thank you for this one :D I will see if I have access too it, but it seems like something I would be willing to spend on :)

I will be reading The Astonishing Color of After. I had this lying around for the longest time and I already started it an hour ago and it reads really quickly. I saw Geri and Laura you two read it already!!

Alissa | 161 comments Twice in a Blue Moon by Christina Lauren

I’m going with this one. Finally and audio so I can listen and work!

This cover wasn't great. I like pretty and interesting covers and I have to say I do pick what books I want to read a lot based on covers. This particular book won a few awards. I thought well deserved. It was a great romantic suspense/mystery book if you like those!

Let me know what you think.. I have the audio.. but I don't like audio as much as you guys. I get too easily distracted and stop listening. If you really like it. I 'll wait for it again in e book format.

Behind Every Lie
Read: 4/22/20
Pages: 336 Kindle
How it qualifies: not listed as a series on goodreads

message 163: by Geri (new)

Geri | 639 comments I didn’t get much sleep last night. So I was able to finish quite a bit of my books. Too bad they weren’t very good!

message 164: by Linda (new)

Linda | 234 comments Thats too bad!!! The blurb sounded interesting.

I really love The Astonishing Color of After, although I do think the teen romance in it doesn't really fit and also its kind of... too... I don't have a word for it....but I do not think teenagers truly behave this too-try-hard-cliche but well, its fiction!! And I guess without this it would be too hard hitting. But I really like how it is built... with the memories and it being pieced together bit by bit.

message 165: by Geri (new)

Geri | 639 comments I read the book a while ago. I don’t remember everything. But I do remember loving the book and the writing.

It's also been a while since I read it. I remember it was quite a bit into the book before I really liked it.

It was just okay. I wouldn’t waste time getting it unless you are just trying to read all their books or you want a really simple sweet romance.

message 170: by Geri (new)

Geri | 639 comments I do remember trying to listen to that Christina Lauren book that Alissa finished. The narrator wasn’t any good so I gave up. Not surprised you couldn’t finish the audio, Laura! Narrators can ruin the experience.

Happy you liked it Linda! I thought you would. Laura and I read it together on NBRC when it was a BOM. Nobody else joined us. I remember thinking it was a shame nobody else was reading such a good book.

message 174: by Alissa (new)

Alissa | 161 comments You are correct Geri the narrator’s voice was whiny and she didn’t do great when she had to do the male voice. So it might be better reading it Laura.

message 175: by MountainKat, Moderator (new)

MountainKat | 31755 comments Here is your next task:

63. Read over 1000 pages in books that start with the same letter (no articles), teams decide letter.

Decide on a letter and use the Kindle edition page count. Remember not to use articles - a, an, or the.

message 176: by Laura (new)

Laura | 2514 comments Ohh, here's one we didn't plan! :-)
I'm going to throw out options. Let's see what you all like.

The Shiloh Walker book I read started with I as do the remaining titles in that series so if everyone wanted too then we could read that.

I have books for G, W & L that I 'd like to read next if anyone can match. ( I know Linda can match me with the G title) If those don't work and someone has something they need or desperately want to read then I can find something else to fit and rearrange what I 'm going to read.

message 177: by Linda (new)

Linda | 234 comments PHEWW thats a hard one!! And it doesn't help that my (physical, which I also deem my HAS TO GET READ ASAP) TBR has no real match with your letters!! I have D, E, F, K and T.

But you are correct, I do have G on my Kindle (and P). and I do not mind scavenging for something new that could fit other letters on KU. But lets see what Geri and Alissa have in mind.

message 178: by Linda (new)

Linda | 234 comments Maybe I can match up with L if I continue the Law Enforcement series. But it would only be 190 pages so I hope thats enough in total with your books!

message 179: by Alissa (new)

Alissa | 161 comments Checking now...I don’t have anything so I will look for g and l titles now

message 180: by Geri (new)

Geri | 639 comments I can find a book for any letter. Except for difficult letters like Z or X or Q. So just decide what letter you want to read and I will find something!

message 181: by Linda (new)

Linda | 234 comments Ok so its between G and L? or G and I? (i dont know which letter you meant, Alissa!)

message 182: by Laura (new)

Laura | 2514 comments Linda you will just need to keep track of our page numbers this time around. I 'll let you know my page amount once we decide on a letter and I don't mind reading another book if we need more pages.

message 183: by Linda (new)

Linda | 234 comments If we go with L I can also no doubt read another one of the series, they are all short!!

message 184: by Alissa (new)

Alissa | 161 comments Sounds like L

message 185: by Geri (new)

I love when double dippin' works:-)

message 189: by Laura (new)

Laura | 2514 comments We are at 1, 115 pages without Linda's page count - no one will need to read another book this time around.

message 190: by Linda (new)

Linda | 234 comments Phewww you two are so quick!!!
I will finish tonight too. We are doing spring cleaning (ugh) so I won't get to it until Bedtime.

MKat left a reminder/announcement in the Main Thread:

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT!!

I have been very easy going with completion posts, but beginning SUNDAY, that will change. If I ask for ask for a correction - correct page count, missing completion element, marked selection rather than completion or ??, I will be waiting for the correction prior to assigning the next task!!

So teammates, double check each other's Completion Posts and make sure they are complete and accurate!

message 195: by Geri (new)

Geri | 639 comments Thanks for passing on the announcement! I didn’t see it.

No worries on finishing the book. I like to finish my books before the weekend if I can. Just a habit of mine. I hope you are enjoying the book more this time. Happy Spring cleaning! 😁

Also, these books are so hilariously bad. the writing is insane I am wondering how they got published. But I can't stop reading Lol am I doing this wrong??!! Hahah

Im going to bed. If we finish the task tonight, go on and check us in please! We might still catch Mkat awake.

Laura | 2514 comments Nicely done, Linda! Sorry, to hear your book wasn't very good.
Alissa, how's your book?

message 199: by Alissa (new)

Alissa | 161 comments I’m cleaning and listening to it. I have 5 hours left which hopefully I finish tonight but it might not be until tomorrow.

It’s better than the first book in the series. The reader isn’t as annoying as I remember from Caraval.

That's unusual to be better than the first book in the series! Yeah, glad you are enjoying it. I tried this year to read the first one but I just couldn't get sucked into it.
You and Linda are making me feel guilty for not cleaning today. I guess I know what's on my to do list tomorrow ( ooops I mean later today)
