Looking at my short list, I have Law Enforcement and Cowboy at my fingertips, but pretty much anything else on the list Chan posted would be easy for me, except maybe teacher. I'll go with whatever works best for everyone else! 😀

Sorry it took me a while. The first 50 pages were great and then
But I was too invested to stop and start something new 😂
Here is Task 11:17. Read 4 books that are stand alones.
The books you choose can't be listed in a series on GR.
Ok, I found a book on Audible Escape... why does it seem like every single book is part of a series lol
Will be reading Stardust Summer
Will be reading Stardust Summer
Courtney wrote: "So as long as there's no series listed on the book page, it's fine? Like this one The Hardest Route"Yep. that should work courtney

ikr! not like a trilogy, but a standalone in a series of stories about other people.
Sarah wrote: "why does it seem like every single book is part of a series lol"I know! It's crazy! I'm trying to get a few options together that I can hopefully use for the last PTP book as well.
So, I might switch to Ride with Me if it's the Opposites Attract one.
It's amazing how few romance books are stand-alones these days! I love series though, so I'm not complaining. I started Inappropriate, and hopefully I can finish it before the PtP theme is called...if not I'll switch over to that and come back to this one once I finish the PtP book.

I'm still trying to complete my PtP for this week. I have a few days to finish that one right? As long as I get both that one and the one for this week completed by next week? Wait, this is the last call for PtP correct? So I would need to get both done ASAP.

Winning is fun, but enjoying the challenge is much more important!

Date Completed: 5/17

I really liked that up until Jake started ranting about Brandon being homeschooled. Why on Earth did the author think that was necessary? Calling the guy's dead parents arrogant for thinking they could homeschool their son? Really left a bad taste in my mouth. I seem to be having bad luck with parental shaming in my books lately. The book I read last week actually had the main guy claiming that his baby mama didn't really love their son because she didn't breastfeed him. Yuck.

Ugh... I find you can definitely tell when authors 'preach' their own viewpoints in books. I mean, have your personal beliefs, but shaming people is a big no go.

Yeah, makes me crazy. Here for the romance, and that's it 🤣. No need to shame people for totally normal life choices. In that last book I read, not only did the hero shame his ex for not breastfeeding, he also called her out for not engaging more with their son... After she had just read him FOUR bedtime stories. Dude, four bedtime stories is love for sure! I can't do more than two 🤣. It was just so cringy.

Yikes! No cool at all! 🤣
I had to stop reading the Virgin River series by Robyn Carr as I felt they really pushed having babies and such, along with the whole breastfeeding thing. I mean, it didn't come out and say it must be done this way, but never showed any other option! It was a little too much... As someone who is unable to have children (for medical reasons/the choice in the long run was mine) it didn't sit well with me.

Oh, that's horrible! I would be fuming. I don't mind when a couple has kids in a book, but there's no reason to make it this judgey thing. I feel like there should be more variety at least in contemporary romances when it comes to parenthood and childrearing. It's surprising how so many books are still so cliché and one-dimensional with that. I breastfed both my kids and it was hard! I couldn't have done it if I wasn't lucky enough to stay at home. I have absolutely no judgment for a woman who doesn't breastfeed. It takes so much time and energy.

Here is Task 12:56. Read 6 books with the same color cover, teams decide color.
The cover needs to be primarily and obviously the chosen color. You can use any edition's cover to qualify. Please post the qualifying cover in your completion post.
Hey Team,I can do the following colors, but if these colors do not fit your reading preferences, I'm sure I can find a book with any color:
Black
Blue
White
Pink
Team, I'm good with any color.... but I have a lot to choose from that are blue or green
No matter what we pick I'm going to have to hunt for something, so I'm good with whatever works for everyone else. Let's see what Courtney has to say, but since both of you mentioned blue I'll start tentatively looking for that.
Courtney wrote: "Sorry, guys. Just got up! I can really find anything, so blue is fine."I can never remember the exact time conversion without looking it up, but I knew it was morning there so figured you might not be up quite yet...either that or just busy! 😁
Sounds like blue it is!
It's about 12 hours difference from the Midwest, USA. Total pain finding the right time to call home 🤣
Sarah wrote: "Do you think this is blue enough? If not, I have a bunch more I can pick from...
"I think I'd ask in the Q&A thread. If it were my decision I'd probably accept it, and Kat's brain and mine agree the vast majority of the time, but not always...

Courtney wrote: "It's about 12 hours difference from the Midwest, USA. Total pain finding the right time to call home 🤣"I'm used to making the conversion from your general part of the world since I have a lot of contact with Jane as co-mods, but with some places being on daylight time and others not, I can never remember the exact time. And you're a couple of hours off from her so I get even more confused! As of right now you're 15 hours ahead of me...
