message 154: by Courtney (last edited Apr 20, 2020 09:02AM) (new)

Courtney | 2931 comments I was surprised how many on my TBR were 2014. I ended up going with that one because it was published on my birthday 🤣. And for some reason, my son napped for 3 hours today, so I flew through it!

message 157: by Chan (new)

Chan | 5093 comments That was more difficult than i anticipated. I thought I had one, then it dawned on me to check that the kindle edition was published in 2014. I guess my tbr has an aversion to 2014 lol

message 158: by Courtney (new)

Courtney | 2931 comments I'm doing that Countdown challenge, and I've definitely noticed there are some bad years for me. Like, I must have something against 2017 because I have like nothing on my TBR from that year! I don't know how I'm going to find 17 books to finish that part of that challenge.

message 159: by Chan (new)

Chan | 5093 comments OMGosh lol 17 books for 2017.
Yeah, the struggle was real for me.

Chan wrote: "Well the page numbers for paperback and kindle edition are the exact same."

Yes, is that ok? I added Kindle to my completion post.

message 164: by MountainKat, Moderator (new)

MountainKat | 31637 comments Here is Task 4:

14. Read 4 books with fewer than 500 reviews.

You can find the number of reviews on the GR main book page. Use that number in your qualification.

message 165: by [deleted user] (new)

Its OK to read a middle grade/YA book? I have Password to Larkspur Lane out from my library to read via Kindle. Comes in at 202 pages and has 272 reviews.

No need to thank me. You have the title, but we are all here to do the work :o)

message 169: by Courtney (last edited Apr 22, 2020 05:36PM) (new)

Courtney | 2931 comments Ok. I'm going with Cold As Puck. I'm a sucker for a second chance romance. First time with this author, so hope it's good!

message 170: by ~KarenH~, Moderator (new)

~KarenH~ | 11359 comments I'm going with Twisted Truths - time to finish off this series!

Always and Forever by Beverly Jenkins

message 175: by Courtney (new)

Courtney | 2931 comments I've never read anything by Beverly Jenkins, looks like everything she does is highly rated, though. Would that be a good one to start with, or is there something by her you like better?

message 176: by Chan (new)

Chan | 5093 comments This was my first book by her. Starts a bit slow, the time frame is rough...parts of the story hit me hard. But Beverly Jenkins is a great writer (lol i listened to the audiobook) and story teller. I wanted her to expand on certain parts, but overall i enjoyed it. I will definitely read something else by her.

message 177: by Courtney (new)

Courtney | 2931 comments Cool. I generally like Historical Romances set in that time period, so I'm interested in checking hers out.

MountainKat | 31637 comments Here is Task 5:

57. Each teammate reads a book set in one of your teammates' home town, no pass for this task.

You can use the state if inside the US or the country outside the US. You pick one location as a team. You can define hometown however you wish - where you currently live or where you grew up. Please remember to let me know how you know where the book is set - précis, book details, tags or lists.

message 183: by Chan (new)

Chan | 5093 comments YAY! Another task. So, we have
Ohio, Georgia, Washington State, Toronto Ontario

My vote is for Washington State or Georgia.

message 184: by ~KarenH~, Moderator (new)

~KarenH~ | 11359 comments I've got nothing in mind specifically that works for any of them, so I'm fine with Washington or Georgia.

message 185: by [deleted user] (new)

Could I put a vote in for Georgia? The library has the next book in a series I am reading set in Savannah.

Potions and Pastries by Bailey Cates
Page count: 304 (Kindle)
Setting: Savannah, Georgia

message 186: by ~KarenH~, Moderator (new)

~KarenH~ | 11359 comments I can do that. Chan, ok with you? Courtney said to go ahead and decide without her...

message 187: by ~KarenH~, Moderator (new)

~KarenH~ | 11359 comments And does anyone have any suggestions for holiday/winter themed books set in Georgia? 😀 There's no reason I can't read 2 separate books for this and the PtP, but if I can multi-task, why not?

My brain is hurting trying to find one lol...

~KarenH~ | 11359 comments Sarah wrote: "My brain is hurting trying to find one lol..."

I have other options for the PtP so I'm not worried about it...they're just not set in Georgia. I might just follow your lead - I've read the first book in the series you mentioned but haven't gone any farther, so that's a possibility for me for here.

I think its super cute and I'm in the mood for this series. I have the newest one from Netgalley, so I should get caught up so I can read it lol

message 191: by ~KarenH~, Moderator (new)

~KarenH~ | 11359 comments Sarah, you're messing with my mind! Your PtP book is set in Washington!!! 🤣🤣🤣

message 192: by Courtney (new)

Courtney | 2931 comments Just got up! So, is it Georgia? I have a lot of hockey books, so Toronto is not bad for me either 🤣

message 193: by [deleted user] (new)

~KarenH~ wrote: "Sarah, you're messing with my mind! Your PtP book is set in Washington!!! 🤣🤣🤣"

OMG I didn't know that! I can switch to Washington and do a 2 in 1 :)

message 194: by Courtney (new)

Courtney | 2931 comments I found He's So Fine. Set in Washington, and it's on the Romances set in Autumn list. Can we read the same book?

message 195: by Courtney (new)

Courtney | 2931 comments Oh, and A Taste of Sugar is on the Autumn list and set in Georgia. So I'm cool either way.

message 196: by Chan (new)

Chan | 5093 comments i'm sooooo confused lol

~KarenH~ | 11359 comments Chan wrote: "i'm sooooo confused lol"

Me too! It shouldn't be this hard, but then I got almost no sleep last night so my brain is only working at MAYBE half speed... 😂

How about this...it seems pretty clear that we're down to either Washington or Georgia, so what's everyone's first choice out of those two? I have options for both, but can multi-task with Washington, so I'll pick that one.

message 198: by [deleted user] (new)

I'll pick Washington as well as I can also multi-task... my apologizes for the confusion everyone!!!!

message 199: by Courtney (last edited Apr 24, 2020 05:49PM) (new)

Courtney | 2931 comments I'd prefer Washington too. I'll go with He's So Fine if Washington works.

message 200: by Chan (new)

Chan | 5093 comments Okay. Majority rules. Washington it is
