Fiona Conlon | 2 comments I read this short story several years ago for an English class and I can no longer find it. I think it was written by Ray Bradbury but I could not find it in any of his collections. It was at least written at the same time period. It is about a family who lives in the future on the outskirts of a modern major city (I think it was Chicago but that might not be right). In this world they have invented a way to extend life. It is sold in a gas or liquid form in large canisters. There is a main couple and multiple generations of their family living in a small one or two bedroom apartment building,. They also have a balcony. The great great grandfather runs the family and makes everyone conform to his wants and is constantly writing family members in and out of his will. The couple falls out of his good graces and ends up finding his supply of life extension gas/juice. They are tired of living this way and conspire to dump the canister to try to kill him. They are caught and the great great grandfather begins to write them out of the will. (view spoiler)
